MariaDB: Reliable database for handling large data

We use MariaDB in our company for an application that handles a large amount of data, and it has been reliable for us. Even with continuous usage and growing data, it manages everything without major issues. From the application side it is easy to work with. Queries run as expected and integration was not difficult. Once it is set up, it doesn’t need much attention on a daily basis. It also helps us keep data organized across different parts of the application without making the setup too complicated.

MariaDB’s Foundation Stewardship Inspires Confidence

MariaDB is overseen by the MariaDB Foundation, rather than by a massive corporate entity like Oracle.

What is MariaDB?

MariaDB is an open-source relational database management system (RDBMS) that is widely recognized as a popular alternative to MySQL. Originating from the same codebase as MySQL, MariaDB was created by the original developers of MySQL after concerns over Oracle's acquisition of MySQL. MariaDB is designed to be highly compatible with MySQL, meaning that it functions almost identically, allowing users to switch providers without having to alter their applications significantly.MariaDB offers features such as a rich ecosystem of storage engines, plugins, and tools that make it extremely flexible and versatile for a wide variety of database needs. It is known for its improved performance, new features, and active development, which are aimed at maintaining its strong presence in the community-driven open source database market.MariaDB supports a robust, scalable, and reliable SQL interface to manage data, making it a preferred choice for developers looking for an enterprise-grade database solution that is both powerful and cost-effective. It is used by large corporations, small businesses, and individual developers around the world.
