Lobstack is a desktop app where AI agents do real work on your own computer: in your files, code repositories, browser and connected tools. Every action that changes something waits for your approval.
Before an agent edits a file, runs a command, pushes code or sends a message, it shows you exactly what it will do (the diff, the command or the message) and waits for you to Approve, Always allow or Deny. Approving one step never approves the next. You can also answer approvals from your phone.
Hand an agent a whole job and it writes a plan first, with numbered steps, the tools it will use and a time estimate. You approve, edit or cancel the plan before it starts. It works in the background and brings the result back for your review.
Agents produce real files: Word and PDF documents, PowerPoint decks, Excel workbooks with working formulas, designs and diagrams. These open in a canvas beside the conversation, with version history. Coding agents work on a branch in your repository, and every commit, push and pull request waits for your yes. Agents can also use web pages in a browser on your machine, which you can watch live and take over at any time.
Your work stays on your computer. Workspace, conversations, memory and logs live in one folder on your disk, and the app sends no analytics or telemetry.
Lobstack is free to download for Windows, macOS and Linux. Your first sign-in adds $5 of credit, and no card is needed. After that you can keep using it free with your own AI provider key or GitHub Copilot, or run models through the Lobstack API. The API is one OpenAI-compatible endpoint across Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and xAI that tells you what every call cost.
