JustDocz is a privacy-first document search and document intelligence application for Windows that helps people find information inside the files already stored on their computers.
Traditional desktop search often depends heavily on filenames, folders, and basic metadata. That becomes difficult when users have accumulated thousands of documents over many years, receive files from different sources, or work with scanned PDFs and images whose contents are not easily searchable.
JustDocz indexes the content inside local documents so users can search based on what they remember from the document itself — such as a client name, subject, case, company, invoice detail, phrase, location, or other piece of information — even when they cannot remember the filename or folder.
The application supports a wide range of document types including PDFs, scanned PDFs, Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, images, text files, OpenDocument files, Apple office documents, EPUB files, CSV files, and other commonly used formats.
OCR enables JustDocz to extract searchable text from scanned documents and images. This can be particularly useful for older archives, photographed documents, scanned legal records, invoices, forms, correspondence, and other material that would otherwise be difficult to search.
JustDocz is built around a local-first privacy model. Documents are processed and indexed on the user's own Windows computer rather than being uploaded to a cloud document-search service. No account or signup is required to start using the application.
The product is designed for document-heavy professions and organizations including law firms, advocates, researchers, media and publishing organizations, accountants, consultants, businesses, educational institutions, and other teams working with confidential or extensive local document collections.
Search capabilities include filename search, full-text content search, multilingual search, typo-tolerant search, phonetic search, and additional intelligent search capabilities. Optional local AI features can be used with supported local AI tools for users who want document Q&A and other document intelligence features while keeping processing local.
