Markedfile is forensic, invisible watermarking that helps businesses find out who leaked a file. Instead of sending the same image or PDF to everyone, you create a separate copy for each recipient, and each copy carries its own invisible mark. If a file appears where it shouldn't, you upload what you found, whether the original file, a re-saved copy or a cropped screenshot, and Markedfile reports whose copy it most likely came from, with a confidence score.
Markedfile started because the founder's other companies needed to mark files before sharing them, such as PDFs and photos sent for identity verification, to know which copy went where. No platform did this in a simple way, so he built one.
Who it's for: agencies sharing proposals and designs, photographers and creators selling content, course sellers, law firms sharing drafts, startups sending pitch decks to investors, and small teams without an enterprise DLP budget.
Key features: unique invisible marks per recipient for images and PDFs; detection from files, re-saved copies and screenshots; a confidence score on every result; video marking (up to 10 minutes and 100 MB) and a mark/detect API on Business and Enterprise; a shared team workspace on Business.
Honest limits: detection is not guaranteed in every case. Very small crops (roughly under 256 px of a detailed area) may not be detected, images under 96×96 px are rejected, and results are confidence scores rather than certainty. Audio is not supported.
Plans: Free (no card), Starter, Pro (unlimited files), Business and Enterprise (custom quote). Annual billing saves 17%.
