I use Goodnotes for both work and home notes, which has replaced my numerous physical notebooks with just an iPad and Goodnotes. It's extremely helpful to be able to quickly jot down notes and then develop them into something more meaningful later. I really like the feature base of Goodnotes, as it allows me to take notes quickly and simply, staying true to its basic offering. The app includes various pens and has good text recognition, which is essential for me given my awful handwriting. It's quick to load most of the time, and I appreciate the ability to use different templates and have different notebooks covering lots of topics. The initial setup was very easy, as I just signed in with my Apple account.
I like how GoodNotes makes note-taking to graph creation processes seamless. It completely eliminates a lot of downtime from moving things over from handwritten notes to the computer, which is very helpful.
I use Goodnotes for most of my student sessions, especially with virtual students. I love how easy it is to insert PDFs or images of worksheets and student problems, then work through them together. We can solve problems in real time, and at the end of the session I can send students the pages we worked on. I also keep each student’s work organized in folders and notebooks, which makes it simple to find everything again later when we need to review.
When working through assignments on worksheet pages, one of the challenges is having worksheets that don’t give you enough space. I can create a quick screenshot of the problem we want to work on and move it elsewhere on the page to work on. Alternatively, if there’s any space at all, we can zoom in, giving us more space. Zooming out generally makes our handwriting look neater. This is particularly useful when filling out tables and diagrams.
