Lineplate is a browser-based tool for technical illustration and assembly documentation, an alternative to desktop tools like SOLIDWORKS Composer, Creo Illustrate and Cortona3D for teams that need clean line art rather than interactive 3D.
Open a STEP, IGES or BREP file and Lineplate works out the hidden lines exactly from the CAD geometry (Open CASCADE Technology, compiled to WebAssembly), so circles stay true arcs and nothing is left in stray fragments. Style the drawing as technical (hidden lines dashed), illustration or heavy outline, with your own line weights. Explode the assembly automatically without collisions, then adjust it by hand. Export SVG in millimetres, vector PDF/A-2b in RGB or CMYK, or PNG at up to 600 dpi.
Everything runs in the browser: the file is never uploaded, and projects stay on your computer. The free plan covers drawings of up to 250 parts, with no account and no watermark. Pro, at £49 a month or £490 a year per editor, adds balloons and parts lists, step-by-step assembly manuals, revision updates, brand templates and batch export.
Made in Glasgow by Galaxy Technology.
If the field has a character limit and this is too long, use the short version instead:
Lineplate makes technical illustrations from CAD. Open a STEP, IGES or BREP assembly in your browser and get exact hidden-line drawings and exploded views, exported as SVG, vector PDF or PNG. The geometry kernel runs on your machine, so the file is never uploaded. Free up to 250 parts, no account.
