No RAW conversion program better than RawTherapee

It was my main raw converter for a few years: now I use DxO Optics Pro, for its excellent optical corrections, but I've not found anything that beats RawTherapee in its rendering of fine tonality. One advantage of RawTherapee is that uses unbounded, high-precision arithmetic in its pipeline; this avoids clipping and allows for better tonality of highly manipulated images. It also has a nice toolset, and I especially like the CIECAM02 adjustments. All of this is at the disadvantage of being exceptionally slow, but images can be processed in batch after editing, so this ins't as much of a disadvantage as it may seem. Recently I learned that it's possible to use Adobe's lens profiles in RawTherapee, and I'll have to try that out. Additionally, Raw Therapee is an open-source program that allows users to process RAW image files for free. It features advanced color handling, histogram matching, high dynamic range (HDR) tone mapping, and more.

The perfect RAW editor!

|RawTherapee
Simple to use, with a huge range of options to edit photos from their RAW form. All colours can be edited individually so if any colour at all is at an incorrect level it only takes a few clicks to fix even previously tough problems. I have saved several over and under exposed photos that were essential for my work and could not be re-taken, so this is a lifesaver!
