First Out AI is browser-based software for verifying safety instrumented functions under IEC 61511 and IEC 61508. Engineers model a function as sensors, logic solver and final elements, enter failure rates from device certificates or FMEDA reports, and get the three SIL checks together: PFDavg or PFH against the target, hardware fault tolerance (Route 1H, Route 2H and the IEC 61511 minimum) and systematic capability. PFDavg is calculated in the time domain with proof test coverage, mission time, partial stroke testing and common cause, with the IEC 61508-6 simplified value shown beside it.
SIL determination covers LOPA, a calibrated risk matrix and a risk graph using the company's own criteria. Documents are drafted from the same data: safety requirements specification, proof test procedure, HAZOP worksheet and cause and effect matrix, exported to PDF and Excel.
An AI assistant answers questions about the user's own function, grounded in the inputs and the engine result. No licensed failure rate database is bundled; every rate is entered with its source. Free calculators for PFDavg, LOPA, proof test interval and failure rate conversion are available without an account. Paid plans are sold through Paddle as merchant of record; purchase orders and invoices are accepted for teams. The software supports engineering judgement and is not certified software.
