Excalibur View is a desktop drawing viewer, markup and takeoff tool built for structural steel fabricators, estimators and general contractors. It runs natively on Windows and macOS. It opens shop drawings and construction sets, does measurement and quantity takeoff, and reads and writes Bluebeam Revu markups, so you can send a marked-up set back to a GC who is still on Revu and they see your work exactly as you left it. The tool chests are what set it apart. They ship with trade materials already loaded and each tool carries its own unit weight, so measuring a length returns pounds without a lookup table or a second spreadsheet. Separate chests cover structural steel and misc metals, concrete and earthwork, general contracting, plumbing, electrical and mechanical. Your files stay on your computer. There is no account, no cloud sync and no telemetry. Excalibur Construction Technologies does not operate a service and holds none of your project data. Excalibur View is sold as a perpetual licence rather than a subscription. You buy a seat once and it keeps running. Updates are an optional yearly renewal — if you stop renewing, the version you own continues to work exactly as before. The software is source-available under the Elastic License 2.0.
