docunest is a cloud-based practice operating system for tax firms and their clients. The platform brings together the recurring digital processes of a tax firm in one central place and is designed to complement DATEV rather than replace it. Its goal is to reduce system disruptions, follow-up questions, and manual work in day-to-day operations. Its features include a client portal, digital employee questionnaires and client onboarding, task and engagement management (Kanzlei-Flow), secure file exchange, electronic signatures and approvals, payroll preparation including variable payroll data, and integrated time tracking. In addition, docunest offers AI-powered document processing: incoming receipts and invoices are extracted using OCR, automatically assigned to the appropriate accounts based on SKR03/04, and prepared as DATEV-compatible accounting batches for import. The platform also provides DATEV-oriented exports and interfaces for payroll and accounting workflows.
