Disbo is a disbursement processing and trust accounting platform built for personal injury and contingency-fee law firms. It automates the workflow for distributing settlement funds from IOLTA trust accounts to multiple payees — including plaintiffs, medical providers, and lienholders — across payment rails such as ACH, RTP, wire transfer, and digital wallets.
The platform handles payee verification (W-9 validation, OFAC screening), performs automated three-way reconciliation of bank statements, ledger entries, and client balances, and generates compliance documentation aligned with state bar requirements such as California's CTAPP program and ABA Model Rule 1.15.

Disbo is designed as an authorized execution agent, meaning the law firm retains direct ownership of its trust account while Disbo's API executes authorized transfers. Fees are charged to the firm's operating account, not the trust account.
The platform is built on Modern Treasury's payment infrastructure and targets solo practitioners through large multi-location PI law firms, with applicability extending to mass tort, employment law, and other contingency-based practices.
