BillingPilot helps German businesses meet the mandatory e-invoicing requirements under the German VAT Act (UStG) by turning existing invoices, PDF, Word, Excel, into validated XRechnung or ZUGFeRD files, and by checking incoming e-invoices for compliance with EN 16931 and the German XRechnung CIUS. Every check produces a verifiable report naming the rule set, validator version, and checksum of the file, so the result can be cited, not just trusted. Fields extracted from an existing document are shown with their confidence; critical fields such as IBAN, amounts, and tax rates are never filled in silently and always require user confirmation. Before sending, BillingPilot checks whether the intended recipient can actually accept the chosen format (including the Leitweg-ID reference number required for German public-sector recipients). Validated invoices and their proof reports are archived together with the original document. A free tier is available without a time limit or payment method; no software change is required to use it.
