Dial - Phone Numbers for AI Agents

12 reviews

Dial gives AI agents their own communication identity. Through a single REST API or MCP tool, agents can provision real US, Canadian, and international phone numbers and immediately send and receive SMS, WhatsApp messages, and voice calls — no carrier setup, no separate integrations for each channel. Dial is built for the agentic era, where AI agents increasingly need to act on behalf of users: signing up for services, completing 2FA/OTP verification, placing outbound calls with a local caller ID, and handling inbound communication across every channel. A unified webhook routes calls, SMS, and WhatsApp messages back to the agent in a consistent format, so developers don't have to stitch together multiple providers. Integration is designed to be fast. Dial offers Python and Node.js SDKs, a REST API, and an MCP server that works out of the box with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, OpenAI Agents, and any MCP-compatible client. New users get $5 in credit automatically with no credit card required, and a phone number can be live within about 30 seconds. Key capabilities include real phone number provisioning via API, two-way SMS worldwide, WhatsApp reach in 180+ countries, inbound and outbound voice calls with real-time transcription and text-to-speech replies, and a single unified webhook across all channels. Dial also authors the Agent Channel Exchange Standard (ACES), an open protocol addressing how communication infrastructure needs to evolve for a world with far more agents than humans.

Effortlessly Expands Commerce with Intuitive Automation

I love how easy Phone Numbers for AI Agents was to use, making the setup work instantly and felt too easy. It enables me to have more joyful moments in life rather than doing what 'I need' or 'I should,' because now the agents can handle those tasks. I can solve a need or create automation in no time using Claude.

Fast to set up, reliable across calls and SMS

Giving an AI agent a real phone presence usually means one of two painful paths: bolting onto a telecom API that was never designed for agents, or assembling a multi-vendor voice stack and maintaining it before anything works. Dial skips that entirely. I provisioned a number and had it running inside my agent in minutes, across calls, SMS, and voice, without stitching infrastructure together. I've used it for a variety of use cases, and it has held up with ease of use, control, and amazing call quality. The benefit is speed to a working product and far less time spent on setup and plumbing, so I can focus on the agent logic instead.

Paging That Talks Back: Our On-Call Agent Runs Incidents by Voice

The standout is the Context MCP: you point Dial at your own MCP server and the voice agent calls your tools live, mid-call. That turns a phone call from a one-way notification into a two-way command channel into your own systems, I haven't seen another telephony API do this. We built an AI on-call commander on it: it places a real outbound call to an engineer, and over that same call they can dismiss an alert, trigger a second call to a teammate, run a gated runbook, or escalate to a manager - all executed against production in real time, by voice. Getting a real phone number for your agent is the other surprise, it takes seconds, not the usual telephony onboarding slog. Provision a number, drop your system prompt into the call instruction, and you've got a live agent on a real line. The UI/UX is smooth throughout, but the API documentation and SDK are the real standouts: clear, well-organized docs and a clean CLI meant we went from zero to real outbound calls fast, with no telephony plumbing. It's genuinely agent-native, works out of the box with Claude, Cursor, LangChain and MCP. The support and Discord community were fantastic - responsive, hands-on, and quick to unblock us whenever we had a question. It's the kind of support that makes you confident building on a platform. The ROI was positive almost immediately: the low barrier to start plus the fast integration meant we delivered a working, high-value product in a fraction of the time and cost we'd budgeted, and the real-time conversation quality held up to an actual high-stakes incident run entirely by voice. That combination of speed, low cost, capability, and support is rare in infrastructure.
