Dayworks replaces the spreadsheets and paper sheets UK construction sites use to run each day.
The site team plans the next shift's daily activity briefing (DABS) area by area: activities, gangs, plant, permits, deliveries, the toolbox talk and the key risk. They publish it and send it to the supervisors who brief the gangs.
During the shift, supervisors book each worker's hours against the day's activities from their phone. Anyone without hours is flagged before the end of the day.
Each area's site diary starts from the briefing, with the activities, the hours booked and the weather already filled in. Engineers add what happened, photos and any changes from the plan. Once a manager signs it off, it's locked.
The weekly view totals hours by person, activity and area. Briefings, allocation sheets and diaries go out as PDFs to the people on each project's distribution list.
Because every record starts from the same list of activities, the briefing, the hours and the diary agree with each other. That matters when a delay or extra cost is disputed months later.
