What I like best is the actionable feedback on committed code. Cyclopt Companion helps me correct and improve code based on clear metrics. For me the real deal was the strong focus on security issues. It fits naturally into the development workflow by reviewing what is actually committed, which is especially valuable today when a large part of the codebase is AI-generated.

What’s coolest about Cyclopt Companion is that it feels like having a smart tutor looking over your shoulder while you code. Instead of just giving you a boring list of errors, it actually explains how your changes affect the long-term health of your project. I love that it sends updates directly to your Discord right after you commit code, so you immediately know if you made things better. It takes the guesswork out of grading your own work!

This tool is very user-friendly, which makes it accessible even for beginners. I appreciate that it provides a comprehensive description of all code issues and lets users review how each individual commit affects overall code quality. The notification system after the analysis of each commit is also very helpful, and the GitHub integration in general is excellent.

What is Cyclopt?
Cyclopt is a code intelligence platform that evaluates software quality, security, and maintainability for human-written and AI-generated code. It consists of three products: Panorama (project and team-level dashboard), Companion (static code analysis on every commit), and Reporter (automated alerts to Slack, Teams, Discord, Mattermost, and Google Chat). All evaluations are aligned with ISO/IEC 25010:2023 and scored by ML models trained on real-world codebases. Integrates with GitHub, GitLab (cloud + self-hosted), Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps. Founded in 2017 as a spin-off from the Intelligent Systems & Software Engineering Lab at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
