CoralTalk allows me to assess whether students actually understand a topic by having them respond in a realistic conversation, not just write about what they think they know. That matters because students can often describe a concept on paper but struggle when they have to apply it in the moment. The best part is that it creates a low-risk way for students to practice communication, judgment, empathy, and problem-solving. In my psychology course, students treated the simulation less like a standard assignment and more like a real interaction. Some repeated attempts, adjusted their wording, and started noticing how their responses affected the conversation.
