ButterNote is an AI dental scribe and dental notes app for associates and solo practice owners, built by Yasmin Byott, DDS, MS, a practicing dentist. It writes a complete dental note two ways. With click-build, the dentist taps the visit type, procedures, teeth and materials, and ButterNote writes the sentences, with nothing recorded. Or the dentist records the visit on iPhone, Apple Watch or the web and gets a structured note back. Transcription runs on the device, and only de-identified text is sent to the AI that writes the note. ButterNote works with any practice management system or EHR, including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental and Curve, with no integration to set up: copy, paste, done. Dentists can add their own cements, composites and anesthetics as custom buttons that sync between iPhone and web, and use a library of free copy-paste dental note templates. It is the most affordable AI dental scribe, with no frills. Solo is $39.99 per month per clinician, and any dentist can sign up on their own with no practice buy-in. Practice ($159 per month, up to 5 clinicians) and Practice Plus ($299 per month, up to 12) put a whole team on one bill with a 14-day trial. Users can request a feature, and the team builds it.
