boxd gives developers and AI agents their own cloud computers. Each machine is a full Linux VM with its own kernel, SSH access, a public HTTPS address and a persistent disk, so tools that need a real computer (Docker, systemd, long-running agents, dev servers) run unchanged. Running machines can be forked in under 200ms, memory included, so a team or an agent can try several approaches in parallel from the same state. Idle machines sleep and pay only for their disk, then wake on the next request. Machines are managed over SSH, a CLI and an API, with Python and TypeScript SDKs and integrations including GitHub, Linear and Slack. boxd runs as a managed cloud in Frankfurt and New York, or self-hosted on any KVM-capable server, free up to 16 vCPUs. Used for cloud dev environments, AI agent sandboxes, background coding agents and preview environments. Built in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
