io1 is a service for securely sharing private services. Run one command beside anything listening on localhost and it is live at a permanent public address under io1.io, with a certificate, WebSocket support and a proper offline page when the machine is away. There is no server to rent and nothing to configure, and the connection is outbound only, so no port is opened and no firewall rule changes.
Access control is the default, not an add-on. A published address is not public unless you say so. Visitors prove their email at the door, you name who gets in (or approve requests as they arrive), and your app receives the visitor's verified email in a header it can trust, so a prototype gets sign-in and user identity with no auth code written.
Teams use io1 to put every branch, prototype and internal tool one link away for the designers, producers and leadership who need to see it, without waiting on a preview environment. Device makers put io1d, the always-on daemon, on board appliances, kiosks and lab instruments at customer sites and reach every unit from a browser, voice and video included, under their own domain. An edge node that serves your account alone adds your own IPv4 and IPv6 address, raw TCP and UDP forwarding and custom domains, and private networks join your own machines over an end-to-end encrypted overlay with direct paths between them, even through two home routers.
io1 ships as a CLI and daemon for macOS and Linux (Homebrew, apt and dnf), an app on the Mac App Store, a Vite plugin, skills for coding agents such as Claude Code, and a web console with teams, telemetry and billing. Plans start at $1/month plus $0.01 per GB served; every priced plan starts with a free trial.
