Aviation Edge Flights Tracker API is a JSON REST API that provides real-time location data of live, airborne flights worldwide. It focuses on ADS-B flights. The data is gathered from multiple sources, aggregated in our servers, and provided to API users in a constantly updated manner in real-time. The API is particularly useful to build virtual maps where your users can track the location of a flight, calculate the route, airport greeting and transportation services, flight simulations, and more. It is possible to receive all live flights with a single API call or filter flights based on airline, departure and arrival airport, flight number, or flight status. Aviation Edge Autocomplete API returns relevant airports and cities in the database based on the letters requested via the API. This allows your users to pick the airport or city of their choice off the list after typing in the letters when the API is implemented. Basically, the airports the API returns include airports that have the submitted letters anywhere in them. For example, when the letters "ist" are requested, the API returns both "Istanbul Airport" and "Bristol Airport" (among other items). The API is particularly useful for travel agency and flight booking websites, tools, or apps to display the relevant airport and cities as a list for the user to choose from.
