Arcjet Makes API Security Integration Simple and Effective

What I like most about Arcjet is how easy it makes it to integrate security features into an application. The rate-limiting feature was especially useful because it let me protect my API from excessive requests by automatically rejecting repeated calls within a defined time window. It was simple to configure, and the documentation helped keep the implementation process smooth. The main downside I ran into was during development. Because I was constantly testing and making frequent API calls, the rate limiting would often end up blocking my own requests. To make development easier, I had to raise the limit or temporarily disable rate limiting in my development environment. That said, it wasn’t a problem in production, where it worked exactly as intended and did a good job protecting my API from abuse.

Reliable Bot Detection with Ease of Integration

I like that Arcjet basically acts as a service. Initially, it was a bit difficult to get my agents to incorporate it correctly due to some configuration issues, but once I had the patterns in the repo, it started consuming it as a service smoothly. The agents just needed some system prompting and better understanding of TypeScript. It was quick to use, and I think it's great, especially if you're building with Vercel. I find it a very easy thing to reach for.

What is Arcjet?

Arcjet secures the actions AI agents take in production. Over the last year, agents have gone from answering questions to moving money, changing records, and shipping code, and the security or engineering leader now owns that risk while the product team hand-rolls its own controls. The catch: identity and RBAC authenticate the agent but don't govern the action it's about to take, and network proxies can't see inside the workflow. Arcjet is a lightweight library that runs inside the application code and gives security teams a set controls over every agent: visibility into what each agent is doing, real-time enforcement before a consequential action (prompt injection, PII, tool authorization), and an audit trail.
