Alameensoft was founded in 1992 by a group of engineers who started developing an accounting system that worked within the Windows operating system. The program's first version was launched in 1994 and became commercially available in 1995 under the name Al-Ameen 3.1. This was the very first accounting system designed for Windows and could run on a network, giving it a significant advantage in the market. Over time, alameensoft developed a version of the program that catered to Arab countries' needs, such as multi-currencies, credit notes, and an English interface. They also added features that allowed users to define special bills and entry types. This version was named Al-Ameen 97 and was distributed first in Lebanon, then in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, and most Arab countries. Al-Ameen 97 became the most widely used accounting system in the Arab world due to its quality, support, development pace, comprehensiveness, and processing speed. The program then switched its database to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and supported new Windows versions such as Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Al-Ameen 2002 could handle massive data sizes with excellent performance and accommodate a high number of users. Al-Ameen 2004 included a collection of integrated and consistent systems such as restaurants, POS, hospitals, orders, distribution and marketing, transfers and shipments, and car workshop systems. It could also import and export data between files automatically or manually with remarkable statistical and analytical reports. alameensoft continues to evolve the program to keep up with changing market requirements, remain the No.1 accounting system in the Arab world, and keep pace with international information systems.
