I really like the depth of filters for targeting journalists in Muck Rack. It's great being able to search by country and media type, like blog versus broadcast. Another big plus is that Muck Rack has a much more up-to-date database compared to what I used before, and I found the initial setup very easy. I like that I am able to quickly search contact information for reporters and view recent stories they have covered. It helps me determine if they are a good fit for our pitch. The ability to create lists ahead of a launch allows me to manage my time and be ready to assist my team when needed. Being able to come back to these long term projects when I have time is a huge bonus to this service. When you use the chat feature, it says the team will get back to you in 30 minutes but it often responds just to tell you its been passed on to research and by the time the research team gets back to me hours or days later, the information is usually no longer needed because I have had to move on and make a decision. This frustrates me as timely results are critical. The integration of AI could be utilized better for analyzing social media for job changes. Muck Rack is not always up to date with job changes in the industry despite reporters posting about their career moves. It is SO slow to load anytime you open the browser or move from list to list. I love the extensive media database that Muck Rack offers, making it easy to search for specific people, topics, and outlets to find the most relevant contacts to pitch. I currently have a very large clipping from many different countries. Sometimes I notice the same headline in different news, but I need to review them all. I would really like to have the possibility to setup my associate brands, competitors, and industry keywords, and use AI within Muck Rack to provide a quick summary on top so that I can easily understand the daily priorities. I like that the contact information is usually up to date, which makes a big difference when you’re pitching. I also find the AI assist helpful. The accuracy of the email information is impressive, working almost 90% of the time, which makes my job as a public relations leader much easier. I think the new AI feature could use some work. It's kind of annoying to have little red flags on everything I send out. The media monitoring is kind of confusing, and the new AI features are kinda confusing too. It's a lot to learn if you're coming in not having seen the platform before, especially when it's about understanding the difference between certain things. I use Muck Rack to find contact information for journalists, which makes it easy for me to send them pitches. I love the CRM feature, as it allows me to manage outreach effectively by providing insight into open and click rates, helping me understand what kind of messaging resonates most with journalists. While Muck Rack does have some reporting features, they could be built out a bit more in depth. It is also a bit frustrating that several charts exist only as charts and cannot be easily converted to a CSV file in the platform.
