They wait until the last minute and then try to double the invoice or sneak in a two-year contract when we only discussed one year. It feels sneaky and not up to the standard of big tech companies. Also, their transcript feature doesn't work well, so we have to use gladi.ai for accurate transcriptions. They've added so many bells and whistles, yet none of them actually improve our experience with hosting virtual meetings for clients and team members. I was much happier with Zoom when it was simpler. Even though it's a premium video conferencing service, I had no problem paying for annual subscriptions—until this year. My renewal in June left me feeling, "It's time to break up; this relationship is over." Unfortunately, I had already paid for the year, and Zoom doesn't offer refunds—not even a prorated one. When I contacted support, they wasted a lot of my time just trying to verify my account. I was already logged in and could provide any information they needed, but they insisted on my account number. It wasn’t where they said it would be, even after I sent screenshots of where I was looking. I probably spent 20 minutes just trying to prove I was the account owner. So, goodbye, Zoom. I'm so frustrated that I'm happy to let the rest of my subscription go to waste. Nothing special and it isn't really worth disrupting the team to move. **What do you dislike about Zoom Workplace?** Somehow, we got charged monthly but on an annual contract, and when we added or removed users, they were all also on the annual contract, so our price went super high but wouldn't come back down until the end of our year term. Again, we were paying monthly at the monthly rate. No discount. When I found this out, I reached out to Zoom to get it fixed and was basically told that I'm screwed. So now I've been trying to get off this annual contract before it renews again, and I've just been getting ignored, passed around, and promised someone would reach out for over a week. Currently, they're back to radio silence, so I'll likely need to try again with their support line. I hate how Zoom has treated me as a long-time customer, and if I felt like I had an alternative that wouldn't disrupt the team, we would be long gone. We have had few technical issues and it does the job pretty well. I have spoken with numerous colleagues in the Tech industy that have had similar experiences so I know I'm not alone in my frustration. I am almost to the point of cancelling the service completely for my organization because I have 4 different account managers, one for general questions, one account executive, one billing manager, and one renewals manager....and none of them seem to even know each other. I consistantly have to loop their own team in on issues that someone in the org is handling, and my billing has been incorrect for 5 months now. I refuse to pay an invoice where I'm being overcharged by more than $1,000, when I have signed multiple contracts (at their request because they keep dropping the ball). NO ONE takes ownership of an issue. They say they will fix it, only to call and ask me a month later how things are going, like I never reported a problem. They always act surprised when I tell them I've already told you and 3 other people this and it is still not resolved. I constantly have to resend them previous email communications because they seem absolutely oblivious. Now it presents us with nothing but problems and we have implemented Microsoft Teams as our primary system. Our company bought a paid plan, then immediately canceled our account because they said we violated their terms and conditions. However, they wouldn't tell us what the violation was or who did it. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact them via their support channels, etc., we did get ahold of our account manager who was able to get our account reinstated because they said we were mistakenly put on the violation list. The plan they put us back on, though, was the Free/Basic plan instead of the plan we already paid for in full. They will not respond to us any longer. But at the moment (2023) we can observe that, apart from marketing, the product is not developing in any way. If you look for reviews on the Internet, you can find out that the current functionality (and problems with it) have not changed in three years. Three points stood out to me in particular: 1 - Unstable operation of the server (absolutely the entire project is tied to it), which can cause problems in applications 2 - 3900 open issues on Github that no one is even trying to answer 3 - a “safe operating algorithm” that is in excellent synergy with all the bugs and requires at least 5 days to fix the problems that the crooked software created. ### 21. Not just bad customer service that can be occasionally received anywhere, but comically bad service that shows that the company not only does not want to help you, but that they put processes in place to ensure that you do not receive help that would cost the company money. I've tried to get answers to my questions numerous times with no luck. Again and again they send emails asking for my feedback, I provide it and they never respond. It's kind of weird, and also, the app sent private information to China. And the app had security problems a lot before. However, it has already fixed that nowadays. It depends on your machine and environment, whether it matches you or not. Both of them have pros and cons. I contacted zoom, got my refunds and was assured my account had reverted to a free account. I didn't think of it, or check the account, because I just don't use it all that often. Then on Father's Day, June 20, 2021, I was charged $170.43 for add ons I neither signed up for, nor used. I was livid. I'm still dealing with this three days later. During the chat with the billing agent, she told me that an engineer would have to handle something on my case because there was a known issue where their system was charging for add ons customers hadn't signed up for. SERIOUSLY!! There's a known issue for exactly what I'm saying and you are giving me the runaround? And you have not notified your customers that they might get charged for things they didn't sign up for. It does not support to advance -/+5s like in every other player (even default HTML). It is not even possible to stream it to another video playing software. If they really want to implement their own player they could have added a feature to see the presenters recorded camera, not only his screen. The UI is just terrible, there are so many windows floating around, and if the conditions change, i.e. a screen is newly shared the windows setup is messed up again. They have very weak political standpoints in terms of democracy support, e.g. where they just gave in to China and did not support the Hongkong movement. There is no room for error and if the shared link is not timely in delivery, you can miss the whole zoom meeting completely.
