"Zoho People: Intuitive, Customizable HR Hub With Strong Mobile and Zoho Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Zoho People?

Zoho People does a great job of pulling together the core HR functions—leave management, attendance tracking, onboarding, and performance reviews—into one platform without feeling cluttered. The interface is intuitive enough that employees can navigate it without much training, which cuts down on HR's support burden. I especially appreciate the customisation options: workflows, approval hierarchies, and forms can be tailored to match our internal processes rather than forcing us to adapt to a rigid system.

The mobile app is another strong point—employees can apply for leave, check attendance, or view payslips on the go, which has been especially useful for our field staff. Integration with other Zoho products (like Zoho Payroll and Zoho Recruit) also makes it easy to keep data consistent across departments without a lot of manual syncing.

Customer support has generally been responsive, and the pricing is reasonable compared to other HRMS tools with similar feature sets, which makes it a solid choice for small to mid-sized companies looking to scale their HR operations without a huge budget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho People?

The reporting module, while functional, isn't as flexible as I'd like—building custom reports often feels clunky, and exporting certain data views requires workarounds. The UI, though generally clean, can feel dated in some sections compared to newer HR platforms, and navigation between modules occasionally requires more clicks than necessary.

Customer support, while responsive for general queries, can be slow to resolve more technical or configuration-specific issues, sometimes requiring multiple follow-ups before getting a real solution. Documentation for advanced customisation (like complex approval workflows or API integrations) is thinner than I'd expect, so we've had to rely on trial and error more than once.

The mobile app, while useful, doesn't have full feature parity with the desktop version—some admin functions simply aren't available on mobile, which is inconvenient for managers who need to approve things on the go. Lastly, performance can lag a bit when handling larger datasets or during peak usage times, like month-end payroll processing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An HR lifesaver that keeps everything in one place"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Zoho People?

All-in-one efficiency: It puts onboarding, timesheets, and leave tracking in one place, completely killing off our messy spreadsheets.

No-training UI: The employee self-service portal is so easy that staff clock in and request time off without needing a single how-to guide.

Paperless onboarding: New hires upload documents before day one, so their actual first day is spent learning, not filling out forms.

Excellent ROI: It plays perfectly with other software and gives us enterprise-level HR features without the enterprise price tag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho People?

Complex backend settings: Configuring custom workflows or user permissions has a steep, frustrating learning curve for admins.

Slow support: Resolving technical bugs via standard email tickets takes too long, often requiring 24 to 48 hours of back-and-forth.

Limited mobile app: It is fine for basic clock-ins, but managers have to switch to a desktop to edit timesheets or run reports.

Glitchy extra modules: Newer features like the Performance Review tool feel unpolished and clunky compared to the solid core HR features Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Zoho People Streamlined Our HR with an Intuitive, User-Friendly Experience"
5/5
What do you like best about Zoho People?

I’ve been using Zoho People for our team, and it has genuinely streamlined our HR processes.

One of the biggest advantages is how simple and intuitive the check-in and check-out system is—our employees were able to adapt to it almost instantly without any training. The user interface is clean, well-structured, and very easy to understand, which makes day-to-day usage smooth for everyone.

Beyond attendance, it offers a well-rounded set of features for leave management, employee records, and performance tracking. The automation options help reduce manual work, and everything is organized in one place, which saves a lot of time.

Overall, Zoho People is a reliable and efficient solution for managing workforce operations, especially for teams looking for a user-friendly and hassle-free HR platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho People?

That said, the admin side of the platform can feel a bit tricky at times. While the employee interface is very intuitive, navigating the admin dashboard and configuring certain settings may require a learning curve initially. Some features aren’t as straightforward as expected, especially when setting up policies or customizing workflows. However, once you get familiar with the system, it becomes more manageable. "Feature-Rich and Customizable, but Permissions Setup Takes Time to Master"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Zoho People?

Zoho People integrates seamlessly with other Zoho applications, which makes it easier to keep HR processes connected. It’s also cost-effective for small and growing organizations, with minimal upfront commitment. On the security side, it offers strong protections such as role-based access controls and multi-factor authentication. The plans are flexible as well, so organizations can scale as their needs evolve. I also like that it supports comprehensive employee lifecycle management, including onboarding, attendance, leave, files, and HR workflows. Finally, the platform is highly customizable, with forms, workflows, and approval processes that can be tailored to fit different requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho People?

User permissions, roles, and form-level access controls can be difficult to understand during the initial setup. Some administration screens, especially Access Control and Permissions, aren’t as intuitive or user-friendly as they could be. Customer support response times could also be faster, particularly for implementation-related questions. If you’re implementing the system yourself, be prepared for a significant time investment—especially if your organization is setting up complex workflows and policies for the first time. Finally, certain advanced configurations come with a steep learning curve and would benefit from clearer documentation and more guided setup wizards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Compliance with Room for Improvement"
4/5
What do you like best about Zoho People?

I value Zoho People's granular field-level audit trail the most for German compliance work. It logs every revision to staff personal data, access adjustments, and offboarding actions with before-and-after value records. The exportable logs directly serve BSI IT-Grundschutz and DSGVO audit evidence, sharply cutting manual evidence compilation work ahead of Stuttgart regulatory inspections. Role-based access controls also limit sensitive personnel data exposure seamlessly. Additionally, its custom compliance dashboard and scheduled access review alerts perform exceptionally well for German security governance. I build dedicated panels tracking contractor access validity and confidentiality agreement storage to satisfy BSI IT-Grundschutz checks. Recurring reminders force quarterly privilege reviews, eliminating overlooked stale accounts that would create critical ISO 27001 audit gaps for our Stuttgart IT firm. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho People?

Zoho People lacks native DATEV payroll integration for German fiscal reporting, forcing manual CSV exports for payroll compliance filings. Audit logs only retain 60 days of history, failing long-term archiving rules for BSI IT-Grundschutz audits. Incomplete German umlaut support in forms occasionally corrupts staff legal records, requiring manual edits to satisfy Stuttgart DSGVO inspections. The dense admin backend also creates a steep learning curve for our junior compliance colleagues configuring access governance rules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplifies Clinic Coordination, HR Tasks, and Time Tracking"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Zoho People?

it helps me manage clinic work, staff coordination, and health education related activities from one place in a simple way. i work as a Dietician nd Nutritionist, manage a homeopathy clinic, and also create health awareness content for social media, so handling daily work properly is important for me. i regularly use features like attendance tracking, leave management, employee records and time tracker during day to day work. The time tracking feature is specially useful while managing patient consultation timings, wellness webinar preparation, follow-up work and content planning activities. It helps keep work more clear and properly managed during busy schedules. Employee information, approvals and documents also stay easy to access whenever needed.

the platform feels simple to use and implementation was not difficult for me even without much technical knowledge. Performance has been smooth in regular use and the system works well while handling different activities together. i also like that many HR related tasks can be managed from one platform instead of using multiple tools separately. I use it quite frequently for staff handling, internal coordination and planning wellness related activities. Overall, Zoho People feels practical and genuinely useful for keeping healthcare and content related work more organized and easier to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho People?

most features are easy to understand, some settings related to workflows and permissions can feel little confusing in the beginning until everything is properly set according to daily work needs. sometimes while checking attendance logs, time entries and approvals together, I need to open multiple sections before finding the exact update I am looking for. During busy clinic work I prefer some information to be visible little more directly from the dashboard itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Zoho People?

Zoho People offers a smooth and user-friendly HR management experience, especially for small to mid-sized teams. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to manage employee records, attendance, and leave tracking without much training. I particularly like the customization options and automation features, which help streamline HR processes and reduce manual work.

The integration with other Zoho apps is a big advantage, creating a unified ecosystem for business operations. However, some advanced features can feel slightly complex at first, and mobile app performance could be improved.

Overall, it’s a reliable and cost-effective HR solution that brings good value for growing organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines HR Tasks, Needs Enhanced L&D Features"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Zoho People?

As an L&D and HR Operations specialist, I value its unified ecosystem most. It consolidates core HR admin, employee self-service and basic learning tools in one place, perfectly matching our mid-sized team’s daily needs. The self-service portal truly lightens our workload; team members can submit leave requests, adjust personal details and check work records on their own, greatly reducing repetitive HR inquiries. Automated approval chains move requests to respective managers instantly, keeping all workflows efficient and visible. We heavily use its customizable onboarding templates and bulk training assignment tools to standardize new hire processes and track course completion in real time. The clean, intuitive interface means employees and supervisors adapt quickly with no extensive training. What’s more, it connects seamlessly with other Zoho apps we use, building a connected workflow and avoiding disjointed data across platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zoho People?

Its L&D features fall short when compared to professional learning management systems. It cannot support sophisticated course classification, structured learning paths or in-depth skill gap assessments, and its training-related reports only offer surface-level data. The custom reporting function also has obvious constraints. There are fixed caps on columns, grouping rules and aggregate fields, so we cannot pull combined reports covering training, attendance and performance data together. The filter settings are too simple to create nested conditions, and several custom fields we built for internal use cannot be added to reports. It lacks practical tools like pivot tables and conditional formatting. When duplicating existing reports, layouts do not carry over, forcing us to rebuild from scratch repeatedly. Complex reports also display incorrectly on mobile devices, affecting on-the-go checks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
