What do you like best?

This helps getting our staff to regularly report and track expenses and receipts. I love the free ACH reimbursement capability. The workflows are easy to create as well. The cost is unbeatable for under 10 users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Some things are not intuitive about the set up, but overall it is helpful. The credit card feeds need to update more often. I usually have to do so manually, and if you don't know where to look, doing it this way can be pretty hard. Staff have a hard time differentiating expenses and receipts, and finding both within the mobile and online apps Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The cost effective solution for under 10 users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

What do you like best?

Zoho Expense has all of the features that I need for processing expense reports for my company. It also offers really great analytic reports. The pricing is much more reasonable than some other products we have used. It is great that this is accessible both online and with a phone app. There is an add-on that you can use to reimburse employee expenses as part of the processing and all of it syncs to my QuickBooks Online program - those features were really important to me when searching for a new expense processing application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It takes an extra step from what we used to do to actually submit the expense report, but we have all adapted pretty quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I absolutely recommend this program - especially if you are looking to interface with QuickBooks Online. I have been very happy with the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our previous expense processing application just because too expensive and was no longer a good value for the money. Zoho Expense is a great value and has great reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The price is great. We also wanted something as simple as Expensify as that's what we are used to, and this seems to have a similar functionality for a much lower price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I haven't used it long enough to really know what I dislike about it. I guess it's not quite as simple as Expensify, but it's pretty close. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you're switching over from Expensify but want something similar, this is the best one I've found. The fact that I think it's also the cheapest one I've found makes it even better. I think this is going to be the perfect solution for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The price alone is amazing. We also are want something only to track spending on business cards and a lot of other companies just offer too much for us. Zoho Expense seems like it'll be a pretty good fit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I like the options it provides while reporting expenses from taxes to reimbursement claims. I just love these features, it helps me to report everything along with my personal expenses for the company and make sure that all the tax details are entered correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There is nothing I dislike about this software but it would be nice to see a little more easy interaction with the software in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am able to invite all of our team so Zoho Expense where they can record expenses that occurred to them. It makes my life very easy as earlier I needed to ask everyone to submit the expenses at the end of the month but now I can see the real-time progress.

Zoho Expense is also available as a Mobile Application which makes it more convenient by just clicking a photo of the expense and it will automatically scan all the details. You just need to check it whenever you have time and submit it to a report so your manager can approve it later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The product is intuitive and uses OCR to detect the data that is required to fill in the necessary information. This helps greatly to ensure that the capturing of the right information will save time for the user, as well as ensuring that the right fields are correctly populated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

While the information grabbing OCR effect is greatly useful, there needs to be additional work done to manually key in some information. While this is a small pet peeve, an improvement will be most welcomed so that Zoho Expenses is on par with Expensify which I have used before.

Another issue is on the data visualization aspect of what has been spent. If there could be graphing done in a stylistic manner, this would be greatly helpful as well for the user to understand the ratio of expenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The product has been a lifesaver in terms of saving time, and ensuring that I have my expenses reports correctly filed for the Accountant to process my claims. These have been invaluable as this ensures that the business is running smoothly and efficiently for the year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Well where do I start off, ZOHO Expense is a blessing in disguise. As a medium-sized corporation with more than 30 Field Service Techs on the run, we were using a home-brewed expense reporting app that was getting the job done till approvals but exporting those approved reports to ZOHO Books via Excel was pain itself. We thought that we might save an extra few dollars by not using a Professional Expense reporting application but the day came when our system started to collapse when the accounting team accidentally made double reimbursements. From that day onwards, we started to check for expense violations, false entries, and were scrutinizing every single transaction that was actually costing us more overhead. So we took a step and contacted ZOHO's amazing sales team. They guided us A to Z throughout the software, gave us a tour of how expenses were reported, how we can look at predefined reports from the reports section, reimburse payments directly through the app, which would show those expenses as reimbursed in ZOHO Books itself. That is simply amazing as the amount of time it was saving as compared to a 3 hour of intensive work of cleaning data and exporting CSV files to ZOHO Books. It's amazing how a set of ZOHO's financial suite software can make a huge impact on controlling cost with the use of clever AI to show us the expense violations among our tech reps, advance tracking is very lean and effective and finally comparing data through a very well designed dashboard (New feature in version 2.0) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Till now our team has no issues ZOHO Expense whatsoever. However, if there was an option to integrate ZOHO Desk tickets into ZOHO Expense, that would be great in our case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

ZOHO Expense's features actually gave us an idea on how to control our employee expenses. While taking a test drive through the application, we came across mileage expenses. For us this was an eye-opener that instead of the our tech-reps wasting their time, entering every single expense they make, whether it is travel expense, visit allowances, meal expense etc, we just fixed a per km rate for our employees whenever they are attending support tickets by travelling to other areas greater than 50 kms. This made it really easy for our employees to use the mileage record option to let the app record their distance while travelling and get the expense recorded automatically. Moving on towards the report automation, this feature allowed us to submit everyone's unreported expenses on every Friday. After a 3 stage approval flow, the employees usually get their reimbursements by Monday morning. Finally, the easy advance tracking is really good feature for non-accountant admins, it lets them control the employees and their given advances. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Zoho has solid customization and an impressive set of integrations with other solutions from Zoho and has three (3) user types: submitters, approvers, and administrators. Each one can have multiple roles. For instance, an administrator can grant approvers the capability of approving their own expenses and the software supports multiple levels of approval. Zoho Expense also connects with Intuit QuickBooks for accounting, so you can schedule reimbursements in the usual accounting cycles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Must submit expenses with a report, which can delay getting reimbursement if a problematic entry occurs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

End users can enter data in several ways. Zoho Expense has two features the others lack. It's the only app that offers an add-on for the Google Chrome web browser. It clips a portion of a webpage and treats it as a receipt. Also, Zoho Expense has a "bulk add expenses screen" so you can organize a lot of expenses on one page. On the spreadsheet-like form, you enter an expense's date, merchant, category, and amount, and link their receipts. Zoho Expense tries mightily to minimize data entry, especially in its mobile experience. From the app, you take a picture of a receipt, and it's automatically uploaded. What do you like best?

How easy it is to scan a receipt and enter all data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

What I dislike and the reason for not signing up is the reports and analytics does not allow for filtering correctly, I can see all expenses by category but we run different projects and we need to be able to see expenses by category per project. At this moment I see expenses per category and a separate report for expenses per project, this expenses per project does not group expenses by category so it is a simple fix but lacking focus on the way we need to use the data we input into expenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

currently we upload all expenses into Google Drive and from here we have to import into quickbook desktop, with Zoho Expense we push directly all receipts scanned into QB Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Love how easy it is to get a receipt, scan it, and have it be ready to go into a category within 20 to 30 seconds. It's accurate almost 100% of the time, but when it's not, the interface is super easy and able to be fixed easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

That there is no app for my MacBook Pro. I have to email every single receipt to a specific email address. If they made an app for the MacBook app store, there would be nothing to complain about! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

DO IT! IF you're looking to transfer to something simpler, this is the answer! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Taking what used to be a long/lengthy process of creating expense reports, and turning it into something that the moment you purchase some thing, you input it into a report. It no longer takes one to two full days a month (off the clock) to create, review, submit expense reports. You do it as you go on a daily basis. No need to even keep the receipts. Love the mobile app that lets me scan directly into Zoho Expense. Than I love the connectivity of Zoho Expense directly into Zoho Books. Creating spending reports make managing our business and more importantly, our spending, so easy! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Not much I dislike! Maybe dress up the look! All in all, this is an awesome tool with not much to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure you use Zoho One where for one flat fee you get most of the Zoho tools. This will connect you to all the tools. More importantly, this lets Zoho expense connect to these apps more robustly and gives you the best reporting options! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Zoho Expense is an impressive package, even if you want to take advantage of its slightly less functional free version. It has many powerful tools for optimizing expense tracking and can be learned by anyone. Along with its powerful and easy-to-use software, it also works great in conjunction with other Zoho accounting tools. There is SSL encryption and two-factor authentication, storage for your receipts, a small set of features and functions that cover everything and is useful for everyone in expense tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Categorization can be improved a lot. You are forced to use Zoho Books if you want the reporting feature for the parent/child category to work properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you are using other Zoho products I see no reason to not try this one as well. I feel like this is the best app when it comes to being both functional and affordable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

What do you like best?

It is clean, intuitive and I love how the credit integration works in reverse, showing you all posted expenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I dislike how strict they are on security. I almost gave up getting past the authentication process, I had an old account but no longer owned the device used to access Zoho, therefore they made it impossible for my to log on. It took nearly a month to work it out. Being across seas, customer service only responds to email one time per day, and this was while we are asleep so solving an issue was a major pain as one communication per day would work. They desperately need 24/7 chat or telephone support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Just know that the only other expense repost app in this price range for single users accounts is Expensify. Zoho is far ahead of the competition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Make's tracking expenses easy and creating expense reports easier than with Expensify. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I especially like the ability to map merchants in Zoho to our vendor list in QuickBooks. This was on our shortlist of must-have features, and after trying out numerous other expense management systems, Zoho was one of the few that had this feature, and it works great. Most of our expenses come into Zoho Expense via the corporate Amex feed, and the merchant names from Amex rarely match our QuickBooks vendor names. Mapping the names in Zoho expense ensures the transactions will automatically be assigned to the correct vendor names when we sync to QuickBooks, rather than automatically creating a new vendor in our vendor list every time a new merchant comes through that isn't recognized. Being able to do this mapping up front saves us time on the back end and keeps our vendor list clean. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

If a credit card receipt is uploaded to Zoho Expense after the transaction has already come into Zoho Expense via the corporate card feed, that receipt will only auto match to the card transaction if the merchant name on the receipt exactly matches the merchant name from the card feed. Oftentimes they don't match exactly, and that receipt then has to be manually attached to the transaction, which takes more time. In this case it would be helpful if the receipts would auto match based upon date, amount and currency. That is how the receipt matching occurs if the receipts are uploaded to Zoho BEFORE the transaction comes through via the feed, but the process is different if the receipt is uploaded after. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our main challenge is consistent coding of corporate card transactions. The onus to code the transactions is put on each cardholder, but before we sync to QuickBooks the reviewer can scan their expenses to ensure they are coded correctly and consistently. And if the reviewer has to make a coding correction, the system remembers this for subsequent transactions for that same merchant, and that rule is set company wide. This means the the rule only has to be set once, avoiding having to set up the same rule over and over for each cardholder, saving us time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
