Game-Changer for Easy Mapping and Workflow **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Thomas M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026 **What do you like best about Ziptility?** I find Ziptility to be a game changer for us, especially because it's by far been the easiest way to add things, look up information, and make changes when necessary. The ease of adding, removing, or updating assets, both on the field and on the computer, really stands out. The workflows make it super easy to carry out work orders. It's definitely one of the best mapping softwares due to its ease of use. Switching to Ziptility from paper and pencil maps made things much easier, and the initial setup was super easy too. I also like how easy it was to set up a user base and have everyone ready to go. Overall, it's a very, very helpful piece of software. **What do you dislike about Ziptility?** I think the offline version of the app could be better. I work in a lot of rural areas that don't have very good cell connectivity. A lot of times, it takes a long time for the app to load, if it loads at all. I wish that the offline first part of the app would be better. **What problems is Ziptility solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ziptility makes adding, removing, or updating map data super easy, improving workflow efficiency and providing comprehensive system insights. ### 2. Even non-tech people can pick it up quickly. It integrates really well with 811/exatix and is super fast. The biggest surprise to me was how our veteran guys doing their bluestake response in Ziptility and grabbing pictures of the asbuilt records they used to mark would end up turning the digitization of our paper records into a part of our process and not be some massive project. They were already pulling the records anyways. Ziptility allowed us to get 100x the benefit from the same amount of work, plus it saved the office staff time! The offline mode is a phenomenal change because we can use it anywhere. It’s changed the way our office and field staff communicate. For disconnects, it used to take two two-man crews two days. Now one two-man crew can do it in one day. That’s 32 hours a week we can spend on other things. It’s also super affordable, even for small systems like us—about half the price of what we were paying for Cityworks. Their onboarding process was really easy, and you can tell they put a ton of thought into it and understand what we do every day. The features are smart and built out to anticipate what we’ll need. **What do you dislike about Ziptility?** The only dislike that I have is that they don't have more modules so I could use it for more things. It's so much better than any other utility software I have tried. **What problems is Ziptility solving and how is that benefiting you?** This saves our team time and has also saved us significant money compared to city works. It streamlines communication, and I’m getting so much more data collected from the field because everyone is using it every day. It pulls 100,000 tiny insights into one place, which helps me see the big picture. ### 3. Helps build historical data that can be passed on. **What do you dislike about Ziptility?** I haven’t found anything yet. Any issues I run into are usually resolved right away by the Ziptility team. **What problems is Ziptility solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solved the issues we were experiencing when operating multiple systems by giving everyone on the team access to maps, tasks, historical data, and assets at the same time. ### 4. Since it works on android or apple products no specialized collector unit is required. The unique use of imagery to locate assets allows for accurate collection of data without costly GPS units. However, if a business already has a GPS unit the program can integrate that tool as well. This ability to adapt to many different platforms, collection methods, and molding to existing technology make Ziptility a very powerful program. What really makes an application like Ziptility functional and successful is the people behind it. Steven, Tyler, and Dante have a dedication to their customers that makes us feel like partners. They listen and care about the changing needs in the utility market. From asset management, cross-connection control, or sampling framework they have provided solutions that work. **What do you dislike about Ziptility?** The only difficulty we have experienced was the migration of existing data to Ziptility. The imagery and data weren't exactly aligned. However, with some adjustments, we were able to find a solution. **What problems is Ziptility solving and how is that benefiting you?** Some of the most common issues in utilities fall back to lack of information, i.e. when was this repaired, what was installed, where is it? We have put Ziptility to use in solving these issues. The ability of each team member to collect data on their phone or tablet means we don't lose the opportunity or slow the contractor down waiting for a specialized team. When we discover an asset is mislabeled or serves a different function than we previously thought the change is made in the field real-time.
