**What do you like best about Zinc?**

The candidate experience is excellent. It has made my role – and my colleagues’ day-to-day work – much easier and more efficient. Integration was straightforward, and the pricing is among the best on the market. Support is quick to respond and consistently very helpful.

There is nothing I can think of currently that I would change.

**What problems is Zinc solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It eliminates the need to use multiple platforms for our international employees. It integrates with our HRIS system and imports all the information from the HRIS, which removes the need for manual data entry. It also contacts referees on our behalf, reducing admin work and saving us time.

Automated Follow-ups: It handles the "chasing" of referees and candidates so HR managers don't have to spend their day sending reminder emails.

**What do you dislike about Zinc?**

The Issue: In countries with less digitized government records (unlike the UK’s HMRC integration), the "instant" feeling of Zinc disappears.

The Result: Users sometimes dislike the discrepancy between a 2-minute UK check and a 10-day international check. Additionally, specific regional requirements (like Business PAN vs. Individual PAN in India) can sometimes cause friction in the candidate's dashboard.

**What do you like best about Zinc?**

How the system is linked with our recruitment and HR systems making all checks and paper work sycn automatically and saves us so much time not having to check multiple systems. 
Shows where all the checks are when being processed and is simple to set up packages to work for the foundation.
Customer service and support is great, teams are alwyas incredible helpful and offer help and answers when needed.

**What do you dislike about Zinc?**

When a check is outstanding the chat bot isn't helpful as it doesn't give a reason as to why . We have had an enhanced check outstanding for a long time overdue and it couldn't share any information as to why or say that the colleague needed to escalate to the DBS service. It would have been nice for the prompt or this to have been flagged to us.

**What problems is Zinc solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integration was simple and being integrated with our other systems meaning we aren't having to manually upload the data. 
Knowing the checks are thorough through HMRC / overseas providers and completes full reference and right to work checks.

**What do you like best about Zinc?**

It’s great that it integrates with our ATS and HR systems. We’ve set up different packages for different job roles, which means checks are automatically sent to candidates when they’re hired. The ability to customise packages is really useful for us as a firm providing an array of services, because different teams need different levels of coverage.

Our account manager is always quick to respond, and no issue we’ve had has ever gone unsolved. Checks are returned quickly and efficiently. We use Zinc every day, and it’s super user-friendly, clear, and easy to read.

**What do you dislike about Zinc?**

We have had no issues using Zinc since joining.

**What problems is Zinc solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Checks come back in a timely manner, which means that most candidates and new hires have the majority of their checks completed before they start employment, even when the turnaround time is very short. This gives us confidence about them joining the firm and allows us to address any anomalies or surprises before their start date. In addition, the automated downloading of Zinc reports into employees’ job profiles in our HR system means we don’t have to worry about missing information or gaps in our reporting.

what I like best about Zinc is how customisable it is in the settings and how much information it can collect for you. i think the pricing is really reasonable for the support it offers. i think it performance is really good and it returns the majority of the information increadile quickly. the ai support is very good at answering questions as well. I think the intergration with other systems like google is good

**What do you dislike about Zinc?**

one area of improvement is when the checks are complete i think it would be best if they were ordered in the when they were completed. i also think Zinc sends a few too many emails for each update. I think the integration with workable could be improved. i think another area of improvement for references if after the reference has not replied after being contacted 5 times they should automatically prompt the employee to provide reference details again. i think they could also send more reminders to the individual to complete the information where needed

Zinc has impoved out system for requesting references massively which has been a massive time saver from a hr perspective- they have also automated a lot of manual checks so have save a lot of time.

Zinc is fast, user friendly, and totally autonomous. It has completely reduced our admin, with us only having to review the report and download it for our records once done! Zinc does all the work for us.

**What do you dislike about Zinc?**

I can't think of any! It has been super easy to use.

**What problems is Zinc solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Candidate experience - it is often reported how easy it was for them to input their details. 
Time to complete pre employment checks - sometimes this would take us 3 weeks+ to get all references, DBS and references complete. Now, it takes as little as half a day! Allowing us to plan new starters first days in much quicker  knowing we are compliant and ready to go. 
Admin - Zinc is linked to our ATS, so an automatic trigger sends when we make an offer. No input needed from us, it gets sent straight to the new employee for us. There is no other involvement needed from us until the check is competed. We receive notifications each time this is done.

Super easy sign in, profile creation, and great navigation. After having tried a few of these tools, Zinc was by far the simplest and easiest onboarding; the results arrived very quickly and were easy to understand.

One aspect I'd love to see improved is the transparency of pricing - because Zinc works on a post-paid usage-driven model, it was a bit hard to see what the cost would be upfront given my needs.

Honestly, not much to complain about. As a small company that only runs occasional checks, the main thing I'd love to see is more reporting or dashboard visibility over past checks, but it's a minor point.

The candidate experience is excellent. We are consistently impressed by how simple the process is for candidates and how quickly references are completed. Using Zinc has reduced the time it takes to return core checks by around 80%.

Very little, it’s a strong platform. Our onboarding experience has been excellent, and we’ve had no major issues so far.

The candidate experience has also improved dramatically. The process is simple, transparent, and mobile‑friendly, which reduces drop‑offs and helps us maintain a strong employer brand. I would love to be able to see more of the backend/admin side that I've been shown before on my Trumpet page e.g. how many checks have we used/how many left

Easy to use and great customer service. The live chat works well.

Not a lot! Adjusting reports and making them custom is a bit difficult but it's rare this is needed.

Solves are RTW checks and vetting for all our employees which saves us a huge amount of time while keeping us compliant.

**What do you like best about Zinc?**

Zinc is a platform which allows candidates to follow a step by step guide on submitting onboarding checks, the response time for checks coming back is minimal meaning our good quality candidates can start in their positions quickly! I use the platform every day and with minimal down times on the platform it also means I can get access to the information I need ASAP.

**What do you dislike about Zinc?**

The repsonse time from the customer support team can vary which can sometimes be difficult if we urgently need something from them to get it sorted. Nevertheless, we do always have our account manager who can then get this sorted and escalated.

**What problems is Zinc solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The speed in which DBS checks come back is really good - I have used different platforms before which take a long time and can therefore mean that we cant get the candidate started quickly. Zinc has completely transformed this for us!

It is so user friendly for companies to use, issue checks and review results efficiently. It integrates perfectly into the rest of your HR tech stack meaning a smooth employee onboarding experience and less administrative time for the HR team.

The team respond very quickly to any issues and are always open to feedback and how to continue to develop the product.

It also has a great user experience for employees completing checks. The checks are really easy to complete and track their own progress on the checks.

The slick look of the system has been a great addition to modernizing our onboarding process, we have had multiple feedback from incoming colleagues saying the process is the best they've had to use. It has also made our annual checks so much easier to complete. The service we have received from our account manager, Siobhan has also been excellent, we have had 1 incident of a tech error in the 3 months we have been using Zinc and Siobhan was on hand straight away to help the candidate and the issue was resolved straight away.

There is nothing I can think of currently that I would change.

You can’t tick on separate checks - every check needs to be a part of a package. Therefore lots of different packages need to be set up first. It’s inconvenient when you need to make an edit in one thing (even something simple like an email template) - it needs to be updated separately. 
Not the best for references.

I have used Zinc at both my current and previous companies, and I truly can't praise them enough. The platform is straightforward and user-friendly for both internal administrative tasks and the external candidate experience. At present, we screen approximately 250 candidates each year using Zinc, which has become an essential tool for our team. Every new joiner goes through Zinc, and we utilise a range of check types, from standard professional/employment references and criminal checks to more specialised ones like CIFAS, which are important for our work in FinTech. Zinc is integrated with our ATS, Greenhouse, and our HRIS, Hibob, meaning that starting checks is simple and part of the Talent teams workflow, rather than being an additional task. Completed checks are then automatically added into the employees profile on hibob. 

The Zinc team has also proven to be excellent partners, consistently listening to our feedback, rapidly improving their product, and providing prompt—almost instant—support via Live Chat.

**What do you dislike about Zinc?**

As I mentioned before, the product is straightforward and easy to use, so there isn’t much for me to dislike. When I was at my previous company, we had employees in countries such as Brazil, and there was a specific check we needed that wasn’t available on the platform at the time. However, I have noticed that they are consistently adding new checks.

This tool saves us time by eliminating manual checks and helps ensure we remain compliant, all in a straightforward and user-friendly manner.

I have yet to find something about Zinc that I dislike. Each time a candidate is processed it is automated and fast.

Prior to using Zinc we were using another platform which took a signficant amount of time to provide background and references checks on each candidate which slowed down the process and often found the checks were not done completely or at all. This has improved our time to hire and efficiency in our onboarding processes.

The process of taking references, right to work and criminal checks has always been a lengthy process. When going through a large amount of growth, this time adds up quick. To stay compliant and automate this process, Zinc was a no brainer. The ability to create packages with different checks needed for our international team has also been great. 

Having gone from 100% manually running this process, seeing notification emails when checks have be completed through Zinc still excites me!

Zinc is an essential to my process and I will continue to use it where ever I go.

**What do you dislike about Zinc?**

When you click into a candidates profile where you can see what checks are still outstanding, there process of getting back to the home page is not as clean. 

This is an incredibly minor flaw in an incredible tool.

Automation of reference checks, right to work, criminal record and any other checks we need to conduct to stay compliant.

You can send check requests to your candidates branded with your company logo and can customize all the templates for your diff background/reference checks based on your needs. Our account rep Beth is also super responsive and helpful. I've had companies like Checkr and Goodhire run me around for weeks without proper response/demos. Easier to understand the pricing structure as well! Less clunky than some of the software provided by stodgy/huge background check companies. Great for modern/cutting-edge tech companies.

**What do you dislike about Zinc?**

Zinc is great, this is more of a general comment for all background check providers. It would be great if there were guidance/available documentation on standard SOC2 compliance regulations so companies who need to be compliant can easily reference them.

In this culture of remote workforce it was important for us to find a vendor with global check capabilities.

Onboarding was simple, and the turnaround times are 400% faster than our old supplier.

The Zinc team have been really helpful from the first call with Ash, the Account Exec, to our onboarding and check-in calls with Tiasha, our CSM.
