The usage did not tax the resources as with other web applications. The search was very fast. Like attempting to open the word and excel versions. Sometimes calendar updates were not updated. Supports clients for CalDav, CardDav, WebDav and iCal. I use the multi-signature feature for each alias and account, with personalized reply-to. It is very difficult recover only one specific email. Basically need to do a rollback of many messages to find one specific. The email system is very dependent of database server. First and foremost are the persona capabilities; we provide contractors to our clients and the ability to create different personas for each of our contractors, and in turn their ability to switch between them seamlessly is very important to our business. **What do you dislike about Zimbra Collaboration Enterprise Collaboration?** Generally, I am not a big fan of Zimbra. The UI has an older feel to it, like the old desktop Microsoft Outlook... it could use a refresh. There are a few other minor UI complaints, but my biggest problem is overall speed; I find that Zimbra moves painfully slowly, specifically the calendar functionality. It takes upwards of 10 seconds for the calendar to register a click, which causes me endless headaches as I click and then often double click before knowing if it is working or not. Zimbra was pretty easy to support, from a Tier 2 perspective. The features were very easy to train end users on. I think the filters were the easiest to teach. It isn't fancy by any means, but it definitely gets the job done. The one thing it does right is text formatting in the email client is relatively streamlined, so you don't have to rely on html code or other frustrating tagging. **What do you dislike about Zimbra Collaboration Enterprise Collaboration?** Zimbra mail is very old and outdated. There are many many better clients that you can use for inter communication between management and associates through email. Zimbra has a very dated user interface that seems like it hasn't been updated since windows 95.; It's extremely gray and dull, and lacks the responsive environment that other software solutions such as microsoft outlook or google mail offers. It's extremely dull and hard to read emails at times because of this. If emails have pictures embedded in to them, you will have to view the image in pieces because the viewing window is so small! Contacting other stores by phone can be inefficient when they are dealing with customers and you need to have them record important information about a shipment, or even a congratulations message from another store. I actually used it when I was in college as that is what they had our email server set up on, but then switched to Outlook and Lotus in the workplace. Now I am back at Zimbra, and I am missing some of the functionally that Lotus had (although not missing all its quirks, I'll admit.) Things that were easy in Lotus, like stationary, out-of-office messages, and even folders are more difficult or non-existent in Zimbra. Also something helpful when you have limited bandwidth is to switch to more efficient modes like mobile mode (url in /zimbra/m/zmain form) or even weaker thin client mode (url in /zimbra/m/zmain?zms=xlite&limit=5 form). The multiserver architecture easily allows us to spin up additional capacity. The system has extremely detailed logs, which we are able to use to quickly troubleshoot any user issues. The powerful web client makes installing and supporting desktop clients like Outlook unnecessary.
