"Zillow is deceptive and hides behind HOMEBUYER reviews to mask it's terrible AGENT service"
0/5
What do you like best about Zillow Premier Agent?

There is nothing to like about Zillow as an agent. It's expensive, limiting and ineffective as a lead generation or advertising platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zillow Premier Agent?

Zillow provides two services:

1. Free home search tools to homebuyers

2. Paid lead generation for real estate agents

The majority of the reviews online clearly are from the former group, reviewing the latter group (often excellent agents that are not affiliated with Zillow, outside of paying Zillow for those leads) or the home search tools at Zillow.com, which are decent.

The issue is, the paid lead generation (aka Zillow Premiere Agent), in our experience, is a HORRIBLE service for real estate agents like ourselves, and Zillow itself treats its paying customers (at least us and many other agents we've spoken to) terribly. So the ratings on this site are deceivingly positive, when the truth is that Zillow itself is destroying the livelihood of agents like us by not being upfront about their lead generation service.

We invested over $36,000 into Zillow lead generation and got nothing for it. Only after being locked into a contract for 6 months, did we find out that LEADS ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE. Agents, read that again. The leads you PAY FOR (in SoCal they're often $800+ per lead) are NOT exclusive to you. You have 30 days to get the lead to proactively opt-in to an exclusivity agreement with you—if they don't respond or decline the invite, they go back into the pool for other agents.

As we all know, leads are often unresponsive in the beginning, so this system is designed for failure. This allows Zillow to make money on the same lead sent to multiple paying advertisers. I don't know about you, but if I had known that upfront I NEVER would have signed up. The contract doesn't mention this anywhere, neither does the sales representative. Neither does the website training documents, or the onboarding manuals/conversations you have with your account rep. You are left to figure this hindrance out for yourself, and once you do, they refuse to let you out of your contract for any reason.

On top of this, the majority of the "leads" you get are people who think you're either a Zillow employee, or the listing agent. They very often already have agents representing them, and are just calling for info on the property, not because they're interested in hiring a buyer's agent. So you're paying hundreds of dollars to talk to waste-of-time tire kickers with absolutely no intention of ever using you.

In a response to my BBB complaint, Zillow claimed "We provide agent-ready buyer leads to local real estate agents and in that process, these leads remain exclusive to the agent we connect them with." This is objectively false on several accounts. The leads are not agent-ready, as explained above, and they're not exclusive!

In my opinion, Zillow is destroying the real estate industry through deceptive practices. It's ironic, since Zillow can attribute its success directly to the realtors from whom it originally "borrowed" the MLS listings that realtors have to pay for the privilege to post to. Now, Zillow is opening its own brokerage, literally stepping on the heads of the industry professionals they used to get to where they are in the process.

This company, in my opinion, does NOT have agents' best interests at heart, and in fact deceives them with false promises and lack of transparency relating to the severe limitations voluntarily implemented by them in their own system.

Let this be a stern warning to any other agent thinking of investing, you could easily end up like me—out almost $40k with nothing to show for it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Zillow Premier Agent?

The promises seemed to be a game changer for my business. Unfortunately none of what I was told was true. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zillow Premier Agent?

Lying about market shares. Zillow promised to deliver an estimated 10-11 per month yet the average of leads received was only 2 per month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Zillow Premier Agent?

Zillow will integrate with KVCore which is what I use as a CRM, so this way no leads are being missed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zillow Premier Agent?

The downsides are the leads are of poor quality. Many of the leads are other agents and most of the others already have an agent and just wanted to ask a question. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Waste Of Money - Not Good Quality Leads"
0/5
What do you like best about Zillow Premier Agent?

When the connection calls are decent quality leads, which is rare, it provides a potentially good opportunity to convert that lead. You can build rapport and a more personable relationship by connecting immediately over the phone as opposed to other style leads. ZPA has good trainers that guide you and give great advice/tactics to use for converting leads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zillow Premier Agent?

The quality of leads, for the most part, are awful. Zillow claims they are pre-screened, unshared leads, which is entirely FALSE. Many of the leads I have received are already actively working with Realtors. They just want your money. They do not give you a fair share of leads. The way Zillow pre-screens leads, and the pre-screening questions are a joke. They do not ask questions they should be asking, which does a disservice to all ZPA agents. I definitely WOULD NOT recommend ZPA to anyone, unless you enjoy throwing your money out the window. Don't fall for the sales pitch because they lie. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Save your money don't use Zillow."

What do you like best about Zillow Premier Agent?

Most of the zillow leads are only clients looking for an answer not for an agent. Many customers have agents already. I received 4 claims clients that have agents and 3 clients that are just asking a question about the property. The clients they email you the information never respond. What do you dislike about Zillow Premier Agent?

The system changes made by Zillow kept placing my account on hold and my rep had to reactive my account all the time. Very frustrating to update my CRM, maintain my stats all while sending screen shots and forwarding emails on a constant bases to my rep so. they could try and figure out why my account kept getting suspended. I was asked to uninstall and reinstall the moble app on a regular bases , with no resolution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the daily updates I receive on the homes my clients are interested in. I can see what they're clicking on and saving which helps me understand what they're looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zillow Premier Agent?

I don't like having to send the email out regarding leads having to confirm me as their agent to "continue working with them" after the first month. Most of the time I get an error message that I have to try sending the email again later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zillow Premier Agent?

That they lied to me about how many leads in a zipcode I would receive. I had two customers who were patched through to me from the Zillow operator, and when they got on the phone, they told me they had an agent, and the operator put them through anyways they claimed, this in their eyes showed me they gave you two leads. Two weeks in, and I asked for a refund for the rest of the month, and they said NO....Other zip code they had refund after I was being sent customer not even looking and did not live in Houston, They had NO money. So I complained to Ryan, and he refunded my money if I bought into another zip code with more action and better price point, and I received three calls in 2 weeks, 2 had agents. I have ignored all leads since because I need my money back. They knew Amanda and Ryan I was a new agent with no money, so I begged them not to stir me wrong, and they did not care. Zillow is just a scam. Now I am out 690. for a program I do not use, you cannot even delete your account, nor is there a way to opt-out on a legit computer site. I am turning them into TREC and the attorney general's office of Texas. They do everything by phone, so there is no paper trail. Pass on this company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
