I also like the playback ability that notifies you when someone views your file when you send them the link. **What do you dislike about Zight?** Sometimes the files take a bit of time to transcribe from the recording to the file. Working with many open browsers at a time, this can sometimes cause a lag on the device. **Recommendations to others considering Zight:** CloudApp is a great way to communicate with clients and even team members when delegating tasks, training for new responsibilities, and even provides you with editing software that you can use to trim out unnecessary parts of the video. Many clients are very gracious to receive video instructions rather than detailed words on how to do something. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I like to help my clients do things independently without having to have a face-to-face meeting on how to account for difficult technical processes that many business owners do not understand how to do without a tutorial, or someone doing it for them. This tool gives them the capabilities to independently add users to their accounts, or refer to as a tutorial to make changes on their websites. ### 2. I love it how when I grab a screenshot on my mac, it automatically captures it into the cloud. The video recording on it is stellar too. I couldn't live without it really. **What do you dislike about Zight?** It can get buggy. When there was a major release, it changed the URL structures and that was a bit annoying. It occasionally bugs out when there is OS updates but beyond that, it's been an integral part of our business. **Recommendations to others considering Zight:** No need to think twice about it really. I've used Loom and CloudApp and find that the feature punch that CloudApp gives, convenience of screenshot editing, etc... its the clear winner. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Help for my staff and help for my clients. This is CORE to our offering in training our staff and clients. Without it, I'd be stuck with loom which is okay but this is MUCH more convenient and very easy to use. ### 3. I've been using it for a few years now. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I use it every day on my laptop. There are so many things to like. For instance: - Take a delayed screenshot and annotate on the screenshots. (The ability to blur parts of a screenshot is great) - Screen recording in HD or in a Gif format is handy. - I love that a link is created immediately after recording/screenshot for quick sharing and you can access it anywhere via the web. - Also, I can upload my own images and videos, making it easy to share. - And there are some handy integrations with apps like Jira, Zendesk and Slack. **What do you dislike about Zight?** - I've found in the past that updates can be buggy. But it does eventually get sorted. One issue I remember was related to logging in with Google SSO - I was going around in circles. It's sorted now though. - I have an XPS 13 7930 2019 laptop and CloudApp does not recognise my mic. I've tried a number of things to try and fix this but no luck. I use my webcam mic as a workaround. I think it may be a compatibility/hardware issue as the laptop uses dual mics. - The CloudApp icon on the Windows notification taskbar is white making it difficult to see on lighter Windows themes. Definitely not a deal-breaker - but still poor UI/UX. - Wish there was a mobile app. - Annotating has gotten better on CloudApp but I'd love to see improvements to adding text (ability to specify a font-size) and thickness doesn't always seem to remember what I had it set to last. **Recommendations to others considering Zight:** If you would like a super quick and easy way to screenshot and make recordings on your desktop, then CloudApp is for you. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do a lot of mobile app testing. I mirror my phone on my desktop and use CloudApp to screen record and then I can easily report on Jira and Slack straight away to illustrate any issues. The ability to take a screenshot of something on my desktop (eg. a design in Zeplin) and annotate makes my workflow fast and easy. Outside of work I've used CloudApp to upload my own images and video so I can quickly and easily share. ### 4. From there it's very easy to share a link to the recording or a copy of the recording itself. As an added benefit, everything is automatically uploaded to the cloud for easy access on the same or another device. **What do you dislike about Zight?** At times, the program can be a little bit buggy. I've occasionally run into issues where the keyboard shortcuts don't register or a screen capture fails to upload. Usually closing the app or taking the screen capture again solves the issue. **Recommendations to others considering Zight:** They have a free version that's relatively lightweight and easy to set up. I use it all the time to send email messages with screenshots. There are probably already some keyboard shortcuts for many of the features in CloudApp, but having them centrally located and organized well is awesome. One of the biggest benefits of cloudapp is that they update the software all the time to remove bugs and to add new features and improve the UI. Unless you're using a different app that serves the same purpose, there's no reason not to at least try CloudApp. With such a generous free tier I recommend CloudApp to friends and co-workers all the time. **What do you dislike about Zight?** The biggest complaint I have is that there isn't an easy way (that I'm aware of) to save drops in bulk. If I take 15 screenshots and want to download them to put them all in a folder from the website or desktop app I have to download each one individually. Another super small issue, but occasionally part of the UI stays on the screen and the only way to get it to go away is to restart the program. I'm not sure if it's Cloudapp or something else on my system. That's **Recommendations to others considering Zight:** Don't hesitate to try out CloudApp. The free tier is so great that there's no reason not to try it if you think you could make good use of it. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I take screenshots all the time, but used to use Photoshop to edit them and send. Now I can use CloudApp and immediately the image uploads and provides me with a public place to share. It saves me time in having to go back and forth to explain something to someone when I can share a more descriptive image instead. ### 7. Another cool option they offer online is that you can actually search through your screenshots. Lets say you took screen shot of a logo and you can't remember what it was but you remember it was red you can search on the term RED and it will find all the screen shots with this color. They make frequent updates and add new features as needed. I like that my customers can just open the link and they don't have to download anything in order to see these videos or photos. And I like the history, I always have a reference to go back and take a look at things I have captured. **What do you dislike about Zight?** I feel like it's hit or miss when it wants to work, I have had a lot of issues before the last update and their support was not the best. I received duplicate emails from different people and there was never a resolution. I do find I have to exit and re enter the app in order for my audio to work at times. I also understand that these cannot last forever for legal reasons, but it would be helpful if these wouldn't delete. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I need an easy way to share "how to" videos with or without audio. This tool allows me to do so easily and I can annotate or add text to these screenshots. It allows me to go back and look at things I have captured in case I need to resend or reuse. I also love the ability to embed and allow others to see this content through my websites. I like how plain and simple it looks, there's no confusion on the visitors' side. All my clients find it easy to play a video and view a screenshot and are able to see everything I wanted to show them. In terms of branding, there is a logo and lack of CloudApp branding which helps me get it to look like my own tool. I like the speed of it, clients mostly love how simple it is. **What do you dislike about Zight?** There were some issues regarding domain integrations, other than this, I loved every bit of the journey with CloudApp. There were issues in the past where we had been forced to refresh our domain connections as they have changed their servers I believe. I've really found Cloudapp so effective to help explain steps to a customer. I love that I can use my mic to add extra information with the video. Really like the gifs to show short steps. The drag and drop function is super handy in emails and in our Zendesk platform we use too. **What do you dislike about Zight?** If I have browser notifications, my cloudapp can get covered and makes it hard to access. Used to have difficulties with text, but I see they've made improvements. There's not a lot I have to complain about anymore. I can quickly record different workflows, both in GIFs for quick little items and as videos for longer processes or to start discussions about features or to ask questions that can be confusing via email. Communicating asynchronously through CloudApp allows me to keep my schedule clear with fewer meetings required, and more time for me to be productive. **What do you dislike about Zight?** The only thing I’d love to see is the addition of built in subtitling for video recordings. I always have extra little nuanced thoughts that I want to communicate but don't feel like typing out all the way. CloudApp has solved that for me! I just make a quick screenshare video, it uploads so quickly, and I'm well on my way to communicating effectively! The quick editor after grabbing a screenshot or screenshare video makes quick work of adjusting and editing what I've already made. Without CloudApp I could: 1: Record my screen (another program to download) 2: Store the file on my computer (takes up precious storage space) 3: Bring the file into an editing software (expensive!) 4: Make adjustments (time to learn a new editing software :( ) 5: Export the video (who knows how long that will take) 6: Upload to the cloud (takes up more precious storage space) 7: Share the link But with CloudApp, no need for that! I can communicate at the speed of thought and in our fast-paced work environment, that is incredibly valuable. Another great one is the direct link. Unlike Google Drive, Dropbox, etc., the direct link from CloudApp does not have access restrictions and is easy to find. **What do you dislike about Zight?** I've had some issues with having long movie recordings fail. Maybe I had the wrong setup, or my laptop was just acting up, but it was quite frustrating after recording a demo, only to realize it failed. Also, it does not work well when uploads are made in quick sequence. I get error uploads and retying does not work. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I work in Support, so it's a really nice tool to have. It saves me one step. Secondly, I believe the features that CloudApp offers are extraordinary - GIFs creation, annotations, screen recordings etc. At last, but not least, I like the fact that I get notifications when some is viewing my screenshots. That's really helpful. **What do you dislike about Zight?** Lately, I've experienced some issues with screen recordings in my browser. I'm using Mac and Chrome. I'm not sure if there's a bug, or this is a Mac limitation, but the screen recording doesn't start on full window view in my browser. It works though if I minimize it and bring it to the main desktop. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** I communicate a lot with my team and I need to minimize the chat discussions explaining different tasks. This would be an impediment to a higher-level implementation, but for casual communications with prospects, it's not a deal-killer. My tech support request has not been answered, but it hasn't even been 24 hours. An excellent tool and resource **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2020 **What do you like best about Zight?** Cloud app is easy to use - it sets in your toolbar, and you can click it, and within 15 seconds you can have your screenshot, gif, or video saved. I can click and drag the screenshots I make right into emails, tickets, or presentations - or, I can save the link and send that over. It also saves previous screenshots for me, which is very useful. I like that I can tell when/who opens the screenshot. I've been really liking the gif feature for presentations as well - it's very easy to highlight an area, record, and then just click and drop it into a presentation. For video, I like that it's easy to screen grab, record (with or without cam/audio) and send it to someone. It's been helpful in explaining issues or solutions for clients. For explaining things in just a screenshot, the annotate feature is excellent. I can add arrows/boxes/circles, change coloring and even add text. It's made my work life a lot easier and more efficient! I've recommended it to co-workers and clients alike. **What do you dislike about Zight?** I can't say much about why I dislike it! The only issues I've had is when it crashed, which is rare. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** It makes it super easy to highlight issues that are occurring either with just an image, gif, or video, and I can then annotate and send to clients, or send to our IT team to clarify issues in tickets. ### 50. great application for remote working **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Sameer y. | Senior System Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2020 **What do you like best about Zight?** I'd love to have the ability to produce numerous screenshots, that will be instantly saved to the account of mine. This will save me time when compared with the application program I applied before, before I've to conserve screenshots between them by hand. I have not tried the film but still, therefore I cannot say something about it, though I have not purchased the film.
