Our bill went from $302/yr to $620/yr with absolutely no warning about the increase unless you clicked into their little blog post about it, instead of being upfront in the email. If you were on a Team plan (now called 'Collaborate') your options are to eat the 102% price increase; that's it. The similarly-priced 'Create' plan doesn't support teams. All in the name of 'hey, we have AI now so we're going double the price to account for the AI costs' - my screenshot tool doesn't need AI to tell users what my screenshot is. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easily sharing imagery and videos with clients and sales ### 2. However, I feel they could really improve these offerings. I don't want to see the screen recording button in my video. **What do you dislike about Zight?** I don't like that CloudApp makes you click multiple times to download a file. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Helping me create screen recording and gifs **Official Response from Saundra Krienke:** > Hello! We also greatly appreciate your business and want to acknowledge your experience using our product. We are sorry to hear about your frustration with the screen recording button appearing in your videos. Currently, there is no way to hide it if you are in full-screen mode. However, we have good news that we think you’ll like. When recording your screen from the desktop app, if you choose ‘Select region,’ this will allow you to select a portion of your screen, hiding the recording button (and any other areas you wish to keep hidden from the video). Regarding your feedback on having to click multiple times to download a file, we think you’ll appreciate our multiple solutions: 1. Go into the desktop app into Settings --> General --> and select Show item in browser after capture. This will ensure that every video or screen recording opens on the web automatically (no need to click). From there, all you have to do is select download. Here’s a quick preview of what that looks like: https://share.getcloudapp.com/4guN64lj 2. Use a shortcut to download after creating your content: For Windows: CTRL + S For Mac: Command + D 3. In the desktop app, after you have created your content, click on the three dots next to the file name and select download. So glitchy, crashes all the time and doesn't save recordings **Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021 **What do you like best about Zight?** I like that this app has many different features, ie screenshot, GIF, annotations, videos, etc. **What do you dislike about Zight?** The app crashes so often that it's basically useless at times and gets in the way of my workflow. I'd gladly cancel my services if there were another tool that offers everything, but there isn't. I've spoken to customer service multiple times and even got on a call with them to have the app replaced (I had done so myself several times before getting on a call with them). I use my computer for work stuff only: internet use, emailing, and zoom calls. I have a few different programs on my computer, but nothing too extreme. I have an insane amount of memory and storage, so it's not that. There really is no reason this should be happening, which was confirmed by the sales team the last time we spoke. The sales team has always been lovely but the tool itself needs improvements. Even submitting this review requires a screenshot of me using the tool but the tool has crashed before I could grab a screenshot... a perfect example of how it works haha **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** Screenshots, GIFs, and video recordings ### 4. It would consistently cut out mid-video and would stop recording, sometimes even 5 or 10 minutes into a video forcing me to restart. It would also freeze on startup with my Macbook Pro running 10.15 Catalina, I found myself exiting and restarting the app more often than not. **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** It can be helpful for when you get it working, but based on the problems I was having I switched to an alternative ### 5. I have never felt so disappointed from a service that sued to work so well and over the years they just managed to make it the worst files sharing service ever!!! I'm a pro user that paying for pro features, nothing is working the app got worst than ever! Just a waste of time and money! Beware! **What do you dislike about Zight?** 1. It used to be very easy to see how many times people viewed your drop, Now with the new version you just can't! 2. The new mac app it big and no compact like it used to be! 3, MY Mac app always crashing 4. With the new version, you cant see when you have uploaded the file! We have a mobile app for iOS that we expect to launch at the end of 2019/beginning of 2020. The best tool for lost time, and money **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2018 **What do you like best about Zight?** A good idea but that never worked fine to me, i tryed to contact with support but his answers was limited to "unninstall version B and reinstall previous version" but 3 months after, the fails continue, and his answers are the same: reinstall with the previous version. **What do you dislike about Zight?** -Screen recording: i tried do around 100 screen recordings, only can finish around 10-20. Sometimes the tool stop because didn't detected i'm pro plan other times the app crash -Links: only 1% of times i sent a link with screenshot or screen recording it worked, the rest of times the people show as a broke image **Recommendations to others considering Zight:** don't buy it **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** none, only work fine 1% of the times, the rest was a lost of time The app has good features but didn't work, so the app is a good drill pc resources instead be the best tool to had installed on my computer. after 8 months trying using it, i moved to other tools, because his support never solved really the issues, only suggest reinstall with previous versions, and after 3 months, this solutions continue without work ### 7. Anyone can access thousands of documents from Cloudapp clients by simply entering a simple query on Google Search. We notified about this on several occasions (more than six months ago) and the issue is not fixed yet. 2- That some of the advertised functions are not working properly yet and this makes it impossible for us to be able to use it with our clients. 3- That their support team even suggested getting rid of a security feature instead of fixing it. 4- That, even knowing CloudApp has a security issue, they didn't notify their clients about it. **Recommendations to others considering Zight:** Make sure all security issues are fixed before you invest in this product **What problems is Zight solving and how is that benefiting you?** None yet, once the security issues are fixed we will use it to communicate with our clients during development phases. We are really looking forward to that moment, once that it's fixed, this will be a great app for many businesses. **Official Response from Scott Smith:** > Hi Alex, thanks for your comment. 1. CloudApp link pages are included in the Robots.txt 'do not index' feature from Google Search. If you are searching in Google, you may find pages that have CloudApp links on them, ie if on a Reddit post someone shared a cl.ly link, or a marketing post someone added one -- but Google will not index or make searchable direct CloudApp links. This is the same expected behavior as Google Drive, Dropbox, and other tools when link sharing is available. 2. We're really sorry that one of the core features you subscribed for wasn't working. But we've fixed it now and it's now working! We've contacted you directly and confirmed with you that it's working as expected. Really excited for you to be able to work better with your clients. 3. The feature we were considering removing is a very infrequently used feature that is potentially confusing. While we do want to support *many* use cases, we have to carefully consider which features to support and can't support them all. We want to make sure the features we support work well, are used frequently by our customers, and are clear in their impact. 4. This was not a 'security issue'. This is a behavior that is both expected and used by other sharing apps like Google Drive, Dropbox, and many others. We would welcome an opportunity to walk you through the specific details of how our customers are protected in the current workflow.
