## Zerto Reviews
  ### 1. Back up your applications in the IBM cloud through Zerto

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francisco P. | Jefe Auditorias Región Cental, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

This tool serves according to my point of view as an ups where if there is a power failure or cybernetics, automatically backs up all data that may be vulnerable within a company, you can continue working if interruptions through this application, then you make the replicas you always need, for me something extremely important because you can have several backups if the IBM cloud fails somehow almost impossible, but there is always some % of risk

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

This is a very good tool for areas where there is energy instability, or important information that can be hacked, is an innovation for me from any point of view, since not for their activity to create backup, has nothing negative to report or say about this wonderful tool

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

I recommend you to use the free trial and see the quality of backup and security that IBM Zorto offers you.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Today is of great importance the issue of backup and security of documents that can be of great importance and delicacy within the company, gives you the opportunity to back up entire applications and documents, without having any interruption of any kind or loss of information

  ### 2. Best DC-DR Replication solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** amit b. | Manager - Systems, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

Easy to manage, Easy to configure - Completely zero touch solution.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

I have liked everything about this product.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

Keep innovating in similar pace

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We started using it for virtual appliances where agent was not supported and looking at the benefits we started using it for normal workloads as well.

  ### 3. Quick to setup and can be replicating in minutes.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

so easy to set up, install the manager, deploy the appliances and your off. Create your protection groups and set your journaling its as simple as that.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

not much to dislike, its simple to set up, if i had to say one thing, maybe the lack of descriptions on the options on protection groups.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

Get a trial and give it a go,

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

used to perform a VM datacenter migration from 1 physical site to another

  ### 4. It just works!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric E. | Network Manager, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

Installation and configuration took only a few hours and has worked reliably ever since. We have completed both isolated DR tests as well as one live test where all production systems were shutdown & DR systems brought online.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

Once you define your virtual protection groups, it take a little work to change them.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We completed our first ever disaster recovery test. All systems were available at the DR site and all data was intact. Our RPO was measured in seconds and RTO was approximately 1 hour.

  ### 5. Zerto is a great piece of backup software that I'd recommend to anyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad W. | Senior Vice President of Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

Zerto is very good at several things. The first item is file level restore. We have users who frequently delete items they didn't want to delete. By using Zerto's file level restore capabilities we can restore that file in minutes from just minutes ago. This is especially helpful for files that users delete the same day they created them as we wouldn't have those on our nightly full backups. Zerto is also very good at instant restoration of servers thanks to it's replication abilities. Our main purpose for this is DR but it comes in handy if we accidentally make a catastrophic mistake on a server, we can simply roll it back to an hour ago and just pretend that mistake never happened.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

Zerto's offsite backup capabilities aren't very robust. They're there and it works but the lack of compression and other features make it not too useful. We currently use a different product to take care of offsite full backups.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

Use Zerto as a piece of your backup solution and don't use it as the only part. You'll still need to consider a different product for full off site backups.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Zerto as a backup product but our main focus is in using it to be a centerpiece of our hot site DR solution. After a tornado hit one of our branches we felt a need to create a DR hot site so that even if our main data center was destroyed we could fire up the DR site and keep the rest of institution running as if nothing had happened. Zerto is a fantastic solution for this and definitely a cornerstone to accomplishing this.

  ### 6. The Swiss Army Knife of Continuous Data Protection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan D. | Network Operations Supervisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

The best things about Zerto are its ease of installation and its feature rich abilities. One of the features I use everyday is the mobile app. It allows me to see the overall health of my Zerto deployment at a quick glance.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

The only negative I have to say about the product would be the lacking of custom alert reporting.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

If you are even considering continuous data protection or replicating data to an location, then you need to look no further than Zerto.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zerto provided the ability to deploy a fully functional DR data replication solution in a matter of minutes. Not only is DR replication taken care of, but we now have continuous data protection provided by Zerto's Journal Level File Restore (JFLR) capabilities. We can now recover data that our general backup solution cannot which gives us complete data protection.

  ### 7. Solid Recovery Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay S. | Adjunct Professor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

I love that I can recover any machine within a few minutes in another datacenter in either test or failover mode. It's also amazing that there is hardly any time lapsed between the failure and the recovery.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

While it is amazing for recovering a single machine, recovering a full site is not nearly as simple. Right now there is no easy way to do this in an organized manner.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

Make sure you work on a full site failover plan. Overall It is a solid product, but you need to make sure that you understand the limitations. Many people fail to take these into consideration.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to remove VMware SRM from our environment. This opened up the ability for us to failover specific machines or application clusters without having to use VMwares poor replication or array based replication.

  ### 8. Great Job Zerto, again

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paolo P. | Senior Manager, Data Center Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

Having implemented Zerto in multiple employers, the version to IBM cloud is just as good as others.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

My current success with Zerto is all good.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Need for DR failover to Cloud

  ### 9. Excellent Replication Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan D. | Sr Coporate Services Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

It is very easy to setup, you can just use the defaults and get everything setup quickly.
it has WAN compression for replication, and it is very easy to test your failover.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

You have to be careful because it can use up all your bandwidth and affect other things that might need that.
There are also many little features that we had to learn as we used the product. For example whether to auto commit your failover or not (in order to test). Once the failover is committed and you configured the replication back to original site, you have to wait until it can do a full sync and it can take a long time, so if you want to fail back quick then it wont work.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DR replication. We have been able to fail over after one of our AC units failed in our primary site, which was a big win for our team as it was a seamless process.

  ### 10. Excellent Business Continuity tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brett R. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

The ease of setup is key. Intuitive to build out and get replication running. The ability to use the replica as a target for the included backup functionality is really handy, especially for finicky VMs that have problems with a typical snapshot based backup.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

My biggest complaint is that the last couple of upgrades have broken pieces of my configuration. Support has been quick to get me going again, but it's still a bit of a hassle.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business continuity/Disaster Recovery....call it what you will. Replicating critical groups of VMs to an offsite data center or cloud provider is a must today. Zerto does the job and is easy to use.

  ### 11. Great virtual machine replication with low price point

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian M. | Network Services Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2017

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

Zerto is easy to configure and get started. You can install and start replicating your VMs within minutes.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

I am very happy with the product. I have not used other VM replication products and from my standpoint I am very pleased with Zerto

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

Great product at a great price

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Zerto to replicate our VMs from our production environment to our DR site. We have found this software to be very reliable and provide almost real time replication.

  ### 12. Great App for Backups

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronald D. | System Administrator, Mining & Metals, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

I love the fact that once we got the installation completed and the hotfixes and tweaks made it works quite well.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

It can be hard to get an engineer at times when they are busy but other than that not much that i dislike

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Off site backups and business continuity

  ### 13. Zerto: the best solution for the Disaster recovery

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessio M. | Sistemista, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

It's simple to setup and configure the VPGs. You can start to replicate within 5 minutes.
I'm happy with Zerto because it doesn't use the snapshots (I hate them).

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

You can't recover files from Windows file system with data deduplication enabled.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We realized two active-active datacenter with cross replication: this allow to be sure that both datacenters are working well. In case of disaster we can switch the VMs in the other site with a minimal downtime.

  ### 14. Excellent Piece of Mind

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

Zerto just works - it doesn't care what servers or storage you are using. It is easy to test and verify.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

I would like to see more performance reporting over time.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

It is the real deal. It handles the replication regardless of what your storage platform is. It handles the recovery operations for you as well. All you need to do internally is redirect DNS to your failed over servers.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Disaster recovery. We can fail our operations over in a matter of minutes.

  ### 15. Great Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael C. | Principal Infrastructure Engineer, Retail, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

Makes migrations and DR simple in areas that are not known to be simple.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

So far nothing. Everything has been great.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datacenter migration. Looking to pull in long term DR via Azure

  ### 16. Zerto

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryhlen S. | System Adminsitrator , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

The ability to test failover from within the zerto application itself without disrupting my live environment

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

If there is a backup/replication snapshot the failover will fail you have to make sure to stop backups/replications and remove snapshot before doing live environment failover.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

It is good production just make sure if you are doing live environment test failovers to stop your backups and replications to avoid errors.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have the ablility to fail over servers to our secondary site so that we can perform maintenance and updates on our primary site with minimal down time.

  ### 17. Deceptively Simple Real Time Replication Solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neil L. | Network Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2017

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

The setup for the fail over groups are easy and quite intuitive to use and the management is very clear using the single pane of glass user interface.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

The minimum virtual machine license pack amount of 25 virtual machines.Would like for it to allow for more flexibility.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

Use the trial version of the software to test and evaluate for yourself to see just how easy it is to use.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software provides us with a level of recovery point objectives that we could not achieve before. We are able to conduct a fail over with in our production environment or to our off site location with minimal effort.

  ### 18. Best replication product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

The production replicates like a champ! It has ancillary benefits that are extremely useful like file level recovery and point in time server recovery.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

Some of the web UI still needs a bit of tweaking, but that does not impact performance.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business Continuity\Disaster Recovery is big in our organization. We utilize Zerto to migrate our non Active\Active work load between two datacenters every 6 months.

  ### 19. From trial, to implementation to use/maintenance, it's been great!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

Ease of use in all facets of the product, it's simple which makes use and cross training very easy.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

We have not experienced any dislikes with this product.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

Run the trial in your environment, you will not be disappointed.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing low RTO/RPO for protected servers/services.

  ### 20. Great Software Replication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafael R. | Coordenador de Infraestrutura, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

It's simple and easy to use.
The implementation is fast and easy.
The replication to other sites was a good experiance and the copy of seeds was fast too.
Is there a good web page adminitration

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

I don't have nothing
I had good experiance with it.
Maybe try the develop a new algiritme to improve the first time replication.
You can improve the reports
Develop more types of reports about server replication
Grow UP the backup set to utilize more disk space

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

Improve the software to first time replication

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure about our DR tests. Solve audit problem

  ### 21. Simple to set up, simple to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergiy M. | Senior System Engineer, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2017

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

The speed of WAN replication is great. It's faster compared to RecoverPoint and 20 VMs replicating over 20Mbps VPN have RPO less than 1 minute. Of course your mileage will vary.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

In Zerto for vSphere it is a pain to remove the virtual appliance if for some reason you lose the host.

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

Make sure to understand how Zerto supports Microsoft/SQL Clusters

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Replication of business critical VMs over WAN. The benefits are obvious - the simplicity of a setup, and the speed of replication are the main ones.

  ### 22. It just works...

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas G. | Security Solutions Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

With a simple setup and configuration, it starts to replicate and is easy to use. Testing reminders keep you informed of testing your Protection Groups and the ease of use allows for changes on the fly as well as the ability modify how you want the failover to operate.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

Mobile app needs some work as it keeps dropping and says I have no data.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to have a failover test at anytime and find some pain points to easily resolve. It has also helped us to identify systems that are interrelated without having a huge BC/DR Staff or professional services.

  ### 23. Wizard of Replication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

The simplicity; easily set-up with wizards.
Support is best in the business, when you have a problem or question; support is happy to help.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

None so far. Still waiting on cloud reverse protection.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DR testing. Before Zerto DR was waking up at 2:00am to bring down production and bring up DR site to test. Now with Zerto the DR site can be a "bubble" during the day.

  ### 24. Cloud Migration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2017

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

Zerto is very simple and intuitive, friendly interface and objective.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

You can't do anything without a license, Zerto could free up demo license and downloads without contact a seller.

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cloud migration between 2 Clouds IBM products, we could complete the migration with no outage using Replication instead of move.

  ### 25. Zerto is black magic wonderful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael E. | Manager, Digital Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2016

**What do you like best about Zerto?**

DR used to be almost impossible. With Zerto it actually is possible. Very clean interface, easy install. Great documentation and support.

**What do you dislike about Zerto?**

The dashboard is cool but the red and green squares are maybe not the easiest to understand. Also, I can't leave the dashboard up because you can press buttons to make changes on the dashboard. If there was a view only type dashboard made for just monitoring I would like that. Or perhaps required a password to be type before editing?

**Recommendations to others considering Zerto:**

If you are using virtualization you owe it to yourself to install a trial and try this out!

**What problems is Zerto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have a hot DR site at a remote location. Zerto is able to grab low level writes and send them to our remote location. It has de-duplication and other optimizations to optimize the bandwidth that it uses to send only the changes to our remote site. It just plain works
