Don't get me wrong, this is still and was a highly sought out after tool that added so much value in my team's workflow, but the tool has become laggy since we've been adding so many screens and projects to it, and has fallen behind as a solution ever since Figma started ramping up their dev to design handoff features. One of my favorite features for Zeplin is the "Onion Paper" feature. It's a feature where you can overlay at variating opacities what was handed off to Zeplin (aka the design) and overlay it on a dev environment to ensure that you have design to dev parity. It's really easy for our front-end team to see layout discrepancies using these features, and honestly is one of the only tools that I think has this feature. One of the drawbacks I find is it's really easy to create a messy sandbox of screens you've handed off for dev. I know there have been features to help mitigate this, like section parsing, and grouping into variations — I haven't done a deep dive into these, but I'm hoping these can solve our organization's problems. It's easy to integrate with our design tools and project tracking tools like Jira, so we can use it as a source of truth when looking for final decisions or screens. Grouping or arranging screens within projects still leaves a little to be desired - recent releases like for variants and sections within a project help, but it's still a bit of a struggle every time. Before the ability to have unpaid seats on a team was restored for paid organizations, it was also frustrating that all of our stakeholders would need to be added to every project individually.
