Versatility - the fact that it is ticketing software, a CRM and communication tracker for our customers/donors. And as a charity, its one less thing we have to worry about raising money to pay for. The fact that a donor/customer cannot contribute to more than one campaign in a singe payment transaction. for example - Someone that wants to buy tickets to an event and also to a raffle at the same time. Really, this is the only thing that I wish Zeffy would find a way to solve with shopping cart set-up or something. It's great!" 5/5 What do you like best about Zeffy? It is easy to use and meets our needs. We have used it for collecting donations, meeting registrations, and as a platform to sell items. I am not an IT person but I have found it very easy to use. Inventory tracking is easy, even if you don't have them pay through the tap to pay or electronic system. I would like to see registration by person with a cost and the ability to add meal registration under that person with an additional cost that would total. Zeffy is a very easy platform to use for our initial registration process for our event. Our budget for this event is right around $100k and using Zeffy has saved us around $4k in credit card fees each time we've used it (this is our 2nd year). It is very easy to setup. It is also easy to offer refunds when necessary and we don't have to worry about losing out on those fees. We also utilized Zeffy to refund a portion of registration as a scholarship gift. The Evergreen District also used Zeffy for our 2025 District Convention. Zeffy also works great with getting the funds from Zeffy to our own bank account and being able to set the time (weekly or monthly) of deposits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. While we use Zeffy for our initial registration, we have to manually add those registration into Sched as Sched is our primary scheduling program for our three day, 8-session conference. Finances section has streamlined our way of reviewing donations and seeing futures of upcoming donation. It was simple to setup, while being guided step by step. The biggest part that I like the most is the no fee's to use the platform. Zeffy is a non-profit-focused platform. They are constantly trying to find ways to support non-profits with tools that make running a non-profit and taking donations easier AND free for non-profits. They don't exist to make money off us. They exist to HELP us. They not only offer TOTALLY FREE services to non-profits, but also offer help with choosing and using those services. For example, I was browsing fundraising options and tried one out and decided not to utilize a particular one at that time. They almost immediately emailed me and asked if there was a problem that prevented me from setting up that type of fundraiser. They care about your success and do everything they can to make it easier. The communications features enabled us to format and send our first email newsletter! For FREE - unlike many of the other mailer platforms. They offer totally FREE webinars to help you learn. And if you reach out for help, it's fast and also did I mention FREE? Zeffy has solved a major problem for our small nonprofit parrot rescue: PayPal’s ever-increasing fees—especially its policy of keeping the entire processing fee when a donation is refunded. Through our Outreach Program, we sometimes raise money to help bird owners obtain emergency veterinary care. Because those donations are collected for a specific purpose, there are circumstances in which offering refunds is the right thing to do. For example, donors may contribute toward emergency treatment for a critically ill bird, only for the bird to pass away before it can be seen by the veterinarian. We always offer to return donations collected for a specific need that no longer exists. Many donors generously tell us to use their gifts for the rescue’s birds instead, but others understandably prefer a refund. Under PayPal’s current policy, refunding the donation does not return the processing fee. If someone donates $1,000, we may receive only about $980 after PayPal deducts approximately $20 in fees. If we then refund the donor’s full $1,000, that missing $20 must come from the rescue’s own funds. In effect, we pay PayPal $20 for a donation that ultimately provided the rescue with nothing. Just a few refunds like that can seriously hurt a small nonprofit—especially when we were only collecting the money to help someone else. With Zeffy, we receive the entire donation. If circumstances require us to return it, we can refund the full amount without dipping into the rescue’s limited funds to replace money taken as processing fees. We absolutely love using Zeffy. It is so great that there are no fees! We started using Zeffy for our new huge event that we run, and now we use it for member management and our art classes we run. The only thing I can think of about Zeffy that I don't like, mostly comes down to what we use it for. It would be nice to have a a way to add taxes for stuff (we have to charge tax on our classes). Zeffy is helping us by having a great membership area. We love that it gives "membership cards" with numbers, and that members can easily choose to set their payments to automatically renew for the next year. We also love that this doesn't take any fee from us, especially as we don't have many avenues of donations, it is great to utilize every dollar that we get from donations/payments for memberships. Some features aren't always as intuitive as they could be, and occasionally we've had to find workarounds to accomplish what we wanted. I'd also like to see more flexibility in reporting, customization, and event management. I like that it does not burden our nonprofit business association with the cost of processing the membership dues and event registrations. I like the rapid response from customer service whenever I have a question or issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Zeffy? The information we require from our members for events and programs and for our membership renewals does not appear as options in the campaign set-up, so we have to use additional questions, which people tend to skip through without answering. I don't like that the credit card charge is limited by amount because our corporate sponsorships exceed the maximum amount. The reporting does not break down first name and last name into two columns, so I have to fix that in the EXCEL spreadsheet that I export. It's fine for 40 event guests, but it will be burdensome when I have more. I would like to have First Name, Last Name, Job Title, Company, and Email for each guest that is registered by the buyer. I would also like an option for the buyer, who is sometimes an Assistant, to be able to indicate that the guest is their boss and not them, and to have fields for the Guest's First Name, Last Name, Job Title, and Email. We have resolved this by asking for the Guest Information in a question, but it does not put the response into separate columns. I don't like that payments are referred to as a "donation". I would prefer that they be called "payments", which is neutral. As a nonprofit business association in the U.S., "Contributions to our organization are not considered 'charitable' deductions by the IRS, but may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses. Please consult your tax advisor." We are required to include that express statement on all solicitations, which we have resolved by asking a the required question, "Do you understand that. . . ". Some of the instructions are not as user-friendly as they could be, but once you understand how to make a partial refund by contacting customer service, it is clearer. The extra donation option is confusing to some users. We would receive more of them if the percentage started at 4%, which is what most credit card processing companies are charging today, rather than 15%. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Zeffy has taken the burden of paying for credit card processing from the nonprofit organization, which is helping us manage our expenses better, and giving the member, guest, or supporter the option to pay for the processing. The next question should include an option for program and event management, membership dues and renewals, and sponsorship payments. We may try to use the option for Nonprofit CRM in the future as more of our members use it. We still have many corporate members who mail checks.
