The single best thing about zabbix is that it's completely free but without lacking anything compared to commercial monitoring tools. It covers pretty much everything from windows servers, esxi servers, HTTP endpoints till our UPS. It produces meaningful graphs and has triggers for each alert. I like the high availability, the versatility of the design and the efficiency for local monitoring. The visual analysis capabilities, the ability to customize dashboards and system templates are exceptional. Zabbix is open source, I like how stable and flexible it is, it can be easily implemented, configured and updated; in our case Zabbix allows us to continuously monitor the entire environment of our network infrastructure and each of its areas, our network infrastructure consists of equipment (carrier class switches) or telephone exchanges that are installed in different locations within the coverage, they are connected together by fiber optic links that make up the MetroEthernet"; we use the ring topology, which is formed by 7 rings along the coverage area, to ensure the redundancy of its links, the rings are numbered from 1 to 7 to determine the nomenclature of VLAN assignment and IP addresses. We install different nodes distributed in strategic points, Zabbix collects all the information from these nodes and analyzes them, in case of detecting any strange behavior it alerts us about a specific situation or problem in a very short time and delivers it to us in the form of graphs that are easy to interpret, which allows us to solve these problems quickly to maintain the continuity of the provision of our services, even can solve them before we even know of their existence, we also monitor the performance and capacity of our AWS server, thanks to the high availability support offered by Zabbix we can also monitor other services and business applications; its interface is web based, I like it and it is very useful for us to be able to log in using the same credentials we use in other tools, thanks to Zabbix we have the option to authenticate the logins with the LDAP (where our Active directory is located). I really do not dislike anything about this tool, but I do think that Zabbix UI should improve its visual appearance as it looks outdated and outdated, it would not hurt to innovate with more bright and cheerful colors to make the experience when you are browsing it more enjoyable, although this does not affect its operation at all but would make the experience more complete when using Zabbix, its operation and performance is great.
