The Yoast SEO is (nowadays) the best plugin for this purpose. It has many features, my preferred one is the functionality to generate XML Sitemaps more advanced than any other WordPress plugin. Once the corresponding box has been selected, Yoast SEO automatically creates an XML sitemap and notifies Google and Bing of the existence of the XML Sitemap. These sites also include images inserted in the posts so that they can also be indexed by search engines. The sitemaps generated with Yoast SEO also work with large sites that contain thousands of contents and this depends on the fact that the sitemaps are created in an advanced way precisely to guarantee the indexing of the sitemap on any type of website.
