It makes tracking payments and reports much easier then doing it manual. The dashboard can be confusing at first but after some time it becomes easier to use. I also like that multiple people can access updates at the same time which helps alot during busy work days. **What do you dislike about Yardi Voyager?** One thing I dont like about Yardi Voyager is that it can feel very slow sometimes especially when loading reports or large amounts of data. The system also looks outdated and not very user friendly for new users. Some tasks takes too many steps to complete and finding certain options can be frustrating. Training new employees on it also takes longer then expected. **What problems is Yardi Voyager solving and how is that benefiting you?** Yardi Voyager helps solve problems with keeping track of tenants, payments, leases, and accounting all in one place. Before using it, alot of information was spread across different files and it was harder to stay organized. Now it makes reporting faster and reduces mistakes with billing or payment tracking. Yardi Voyager is the complete solution for managing any kind of property. The suite of software can be used for residential, commercial, affordable, senior, student, HOA/condo, public housing and single-family properties. The software offers a centralized, integrated system that is hard to beat or match. It's your system to store all property, portfolio and resident information. You can track occupancy, rents, leases, lease status, unit history and status, etc... It's a system for lease administration, maintenance and work orders, accounting, billing, and property reporting. The system is relatively intuitive but can present a significant learning curve to teams using it for the first time. As a web-based solution, it can integrate with your existing software easily however, Yardi is protective in terms of allowing developers access to their API which can make it difficult to integrate with every system you may be using. In terms of implementation, Yardi is very responsive while it's software is being rolled out to a new client. You will have an entire team dedicated to your implementation and available to you for any question that may come up. Their ongoing customer support is very responsive and knowledgeable however I have experienced some significant gaps in understanding due to my limited knowledge of what specific features are called. **What do you dislike about Yardi Voyager?** - The number of features and capabilities can be overwhelming and makes it harder for users to gain a firm grasp of every part of the software. - It could benefit from a bit of a redesign/update as the experience can be kind of clunky and looks a little dated. - Depending on your level of access, it can be hard to know why you are unable to complete an action or if you need approval from another team member before proceeding. This can slow work and make users unable to meet deadlines. - As I mentioned there is usually a significant learning curve for teams when implementing. - Yardi guards their API with a bit of an iron fist, which can make some integrations difficult. - Customer Service can sometimes take a while to respond. **What problems is Yardi Voyager solving and how is that benefiting you?** Yardi provides property management companies with a singular integrated platform that can handle every part of property management. It allowed us to automate lease renewals, invoicing, work orders, vendor approvals, etc... It offers us real-time visibility across properties and finances. Going from a CTI platform to Yardi Voyager was an easy transition due to the amount of reference materials that Yardi Client Central makes available. From the quick menu setup to the performing a general search, the ease of use is what I like the best. It makes performing our client accounting functions very easy and effective. **What do you dislike about Yardi Voyager?** There are a few items that I dislike about Yardi Voyager. At times, a general ledger rebuild is needed in order for financials to balance to the subledgers. We have run into instances where we run a financial statement in a prior month and rerun that same financial statement in the current month, and the amounts are different or the trial balance or balance sheet are not in balance. The level of trust and confidence in the product can be questionable at times which makes it sometimes difficult to understand why static data may change from day to day at times. **Recommendations to others considering Yardi Voyager:** I would recommend Yardi Voyager to others because there are many options for reporting and analytics that are automated and very detailed that can set your company apart from others due to the complexity yet simplicity of the software options available within the program. **What problems is Yardi Voyager solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am an accounting controller for a real estate investment firm. We have to provide client and owner financials and performance reporting and special analysis to our end users in order for them to evaluate their investment's health, make decisions about their real estate allocation in the over scheme of their business, and to decide which industries to invest in and their basic overall investment strategies. We have to ensure that the financial data presented to the client is correct and complete which is why we rely on Yardi Voyager for our accounting needs. We have seen several benefits from using Yardi Voyager including the ease of over use of the software, the ability to automate many tasks and schedules that were once done with an Excel spreadsheet, and to improve our reporting to the client by being able to offer more enhanced reporting that is comparable with our competition. We have recently started using the performance module to calculate returns with an interface with the Voyager accounting data. ### 19. I spoke to our IT guy and he said that the reason why we haven't upgraded to Voyager 7s is because of how costly it is just to upgrade. To top that off, it's also highly likely that a lot of time will be spent on translating the data so that it displays properly on the new version. When I started as a new employee, I was able to pick up the process quite quickly and navigate different menus with ease.
