I use Xtreme labs in my classrooms. The Active Labs work well and help to support the students. Support is great and responds right away to any issues. Overall I am very happy with Xtreme labs and find they are a great addition to my classroom, especially during covid times. Xtreme labs helped me pivot to online learning with only 3 days notice :-)

There are some issues but overall I have found the company and their support to be superior and would highly recommend them!!! Every company has some issues and to me it is how they deal with the issues that counts and Xtreme labs has gone above and beyond :-) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In some instances, too little RAM is assigned to the VM's which makes certain tasks and labs quite slow.

It has gotten a bit better, but there have been quite a few issues with the mouse and keyboard not working in the lab. As I am writing this, a student just messaged me to say that he can no longer use the mouse or keyboard :-( This ends up with a student having to end a lab and lose an attempt and lose the work they have done so far (and they only get so many attempts per lab).

Last term, as the issues had happened a lot, they did work to ensure that all my students had sufficient attempts to finish my course.

The other issue I face is the time allocated for the labs. The lab ends and a student loses an attempt and they lose all their work. It is very easy to miss the message to extend the lab if you are on a different page or if you have left the computer for a min. I have asked for the lab timeouts to be set to a longer period, but the last email I got said that they would not be doing this for me :-( Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The individual labs make the teaching of the course that is associated with XtremeLabs very easy. There are helps for the student such as the "paste" function for longer commands so that it reduces the error rate and improves student satisfaction Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
