Milestone XProtect accommodates our needs well when it comes to scalability and customizability. The platform provides a robust video management system with extensive support for cameras and seamless integration with third-party tools. It enables easy provisioning and management of cameras while also incorporating a number of powerful tools such as being able to easily implement custom rules to tailor to our specific requirements. We've encountered some issues with the 'Add Hardware' feature of the Management Client, which has been documented by some other users online. We received prompt and personalised support from Milestone for this issue, and to their credit they were able to work with us for a workaround, however this issue has re-occurred so it does raise potential concerns about the long-term reliability of some features. Resource usage on the Smart Clients can also become very high, even on more powerful systems which meet or exceed the requirements recommended/outlined by Milestone, so optimizing camera settings/streams is crucial, especially more-so with larger deployments. We've previously used individual HIKvision NVRs, however this was not going to be suitable for a large scale deployment. Milestone XProtect is able to consolidate our NVRs, IoT devices, cameras etc. for simplified management, and it offers far more powerful (and plentiful) features that other industry alternatives. The ability for it to run on a Windows Server also ensures accessibility for administrators who are less experienced with Unix based alternatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Very happy to hear that the overall experience with XProtect has been positive. I also appreciate the constructive feedback. There can indeed be a bit of a trade-off that comes with supporting so many types of security devices. Even when XProtect correctly identifies the camera model you're trying to add, a mismatch in configuration (e.g., streaming settings) can still prevent a successful connection. I've linked to our supported devices page in case anyone reading this is curious about which cameras/device models are supported. Regarding resource usage on the Smart Client, this can also be a bit of a trade-off situation. For example, adaptive streaming can take some of the heat off the client side, but that means more demands on the server side. A downside is the cancellation of essential+. I just it allot to let customers test the system. I liked that i had basically full functionality. Our team deployed Milestone XProject in a manufacturing facility to monitor production area, warehouses and office security. Milestone XProject is a scalable and high resolution video management system that could integrate with other existing security infrastructure. Milestone XProtect has the ability to view life feeds from multiple buildings in real time. 2. Features like motion detection, facial recognition and automated alerts help us respond faster to incidents. 3. For authorised personal access we could setup roll based access for different teams. 4. Things that i like very much about Milestone xproject from security point of view are - 1) I liked its reliabitlity and modern features like object detection and search based on artificial intelligence. 2) Its dashboard is user friendly and i find no shortcoming while i work on it and setting up process was made easier by customer support which are well trained and qualified. 3) Our inventories and data room is secured because there is no feed problem . 4) Users can be added with different roles for assigning different level permissions.
