## xMatters Reviews
  ### 1. Reliable Alerts, Complex Setup

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Advik R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

I appreciate xMatters' ability to automatically notify the right personnel at the right time, driving fast and reliable incident response without manual coordination. It's used effectively to automate incident alerting and to notify the right on-call teams to quickly respond and resolve IT issues. It also solves the problem of delayed or missed incident response by ensuring critical alerts reach the right people instantly and trigger automated actions.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

The complex setup and configuration made it harder to onboard and customize workflows quickly. It felt overly complex and time-consuming to set up and manage for quick value.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use xMatters to automate incident alerting, ensuring critical alerts reach the right people instantly to quickly respond and resolve IT issues. It solves delayed response problems by notifying the right personnel at the right time, driving fast, reliable incident response without manual coordination.

  ### 2. Solid Paging and UI, But Feels Barebones on Integrations and IaC

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

It works well enough-- it pages the correct people and gets their attention. The workflow UI is also nice, and it's nice to have data that keeps track of MTTR.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

It feels a little barebones. There's a lot that has to be home-brewed. There are some basic integrations with the workflows, but they work with webhooks and don't directly integrate with alerting software. Also, there's very little currently in the Terraform provider, which is rough for a company that claims to be focused on Google-style SRE practices.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

xMatters allows us to customize how we respond to incidents at various levels of criticality. We can be notified when something breaks and respond quickly.

  ### 3. Been using xMatters for a few years now

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2025

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

It alerts me when a customer is having issues with any of their systems.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

The biggets downside to using xMatters is the calendar. I am in the DBA group and within our group you can't look at a calendar and tell when you are the primary on-call. (We are always on-call to a point it is just whether or not you are the primary)

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It alerts me so I can keep our customers IT sytems running.

  ### 4. Good for what it is

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

Notifications are quick and efficient. Clean UI for the most part

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Going to your schedule should be a single click. Not very intuitive where to find it for the first time. Also there should be a way to export your schedule to your calander

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

It does what it needs to. Could be improved by having an export to calendar feature.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting paged for monitoring for production incidents

**Official Response from Sonu Sekhon:**

> Thank you for your feedback! Currently, the Schedule link is in your profile and can be accessed via a single click in the top right menu. As a part of our on-going UI improvements, we're always looking for customer input. You can use this link to give us your feedback on the UI: https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360000688491-Product-Feedback.

the app is slow to aknowledge that you have responded to a call. this can be misleading when multiple call enter at the same time.
beside from this small issues the app is fine

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

XMatters is helping us in our day to day incident management and also achieve our service-level agreement whit ease.
the communication between teams is also nice

  ### 6. Reliability Engineer

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carolyn G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

How you can customize the alert notifications.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

Navigating to my current schedule isn't that easy.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick response to alerts and we don't miss any.

  ### 7. My experience is good. The calling feature is good. Need time to explore more in the coming usage.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

The calling feature, when an email comes from oncall DL , this app makes a phone call to the configured users cell phone plus it sends an email, number of times to call back and duration between each call can be configured, plus if the primary person does not acknowledge the call, the call will be escalated to next person in the list and so-on.

Since we are working in the IT support team, this calling back feature will allow the indivisual who is on support can get the critical alerts in time and won't miss any crtical alerts, and take appropriate actions in a timely manner.

Currently we are using the smart phone's feature to set up customized alerts features to trigger critical alerts regarding production issues including gateway server is down, ftp server is down, integration server is down, and any critical failures regarding some major clients's orders or deliveries etc. However, the customization in the cell phone is not working stablely, and more important, the IT management want to have a centralized managed and organized apllication for the IT alerts. In that way, the infrastruture team can create a standard formats for all IT alerts, and give it to different IT teams to use. xMatters has the features that we need.

Our infrastructure team is still implementing xMatters and may integrate this application with some other apllicatgions that our IT department is currently using. Hopefully we can utilize the features provided by xmatters along with our IT softwares to improve our support and ticket managements.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

I have not found the least helpful about xMatters and the downsides of using xMatters yet. Currently our infrastructure team is still implementing, confifuring and testing this application, we are still in the testing phase for this application, therefore can not provide detailed information regarding the failures or errors that we may encounter.

In the future usage, believe more information can be collected ad sheared as to how to improve this application from an IT support perspective.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

If the IT department of a comnay looks for some applications to improve their support experience and ticket management, I may let them to check xMatters out and eveluate the features to see if those will fir their support requirements.

I will introduce them the calling feature, when an email comes from oncall DL , this app makes a phone call to the configured users cell phone plus it sends an email, number of times to call back and duration between each call can be configured, plus if the primary person does not acknowledge the call, the call will be escalated to next person in the list and so-on.

Currently we are still initializing the usage and eveluating this applications therefore we need time to explore more features and experience of this applications. In order to recommend to others, we need more detailed information, for example like some statistics, special support cases etc and document all these information.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Get alerts in a timely manner, and primary/secondary support personel will not miss any critical alerts.

The calling feature, when an email comes from oncall DL , this app makes a phone call to the configured users cell phone plus it sends an email, number of times to call back and duration between each call can be configured, plus if the primary person does not acknowledge the call, the call will be escalated to next person in the list and so-on.

**Official Response from Mandeep J:**

  ### 8. Some very useful improvements are needed would like export to gcal

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

I like that the push notifications work well and are consistent.

**What do you dislike about xMatters?**

It is not easy to find my individual schedule on the mobile app or website. I would like to see only my schedule, not the schedule of everyone on my team. I also wish there was a way to export my schedule to google calendar so I don't have to update my calendar everytime the on call schedule is released.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DevOps, backups to other contacts method help me not miss alerts

**Official Response from Manpreet Lagah:**

> Thank you for leaving a review. We're glad you're finding the xMatters mobile useful. We have some updates to groups and schedules in the works, if you'd like to provide feedback on the upcoming designs to the Product Management team, please reach out to your dedicated Customer Success Manager and they can coordinate a meeting.

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2021

**What do you like best about xMatters?**

I like the UI layout while looking at groups and users and metrics

Reaching fix agents to respond to incidents.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I personally am not using xMatters for problem solving. My department uses it to help us techs stay on top of incoming tickets.

**Recommendations to others considering xMatters:**

Get a full POC and see if it's a good fit.

**What problems is xMatters solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to get communication better working for DevOps, and less alerting the noc with a kb to call a number.
