What do you like best about Xero?

It has a good easy to use interface and all the functions are easy to find. It has a good help system to get you through using those features that are not so obvious. The import bills functions by email is really useful for me and saves a lot of time over manually entering data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xero?

I have to spend a bit of time keeping the customer and supplier lists up to date. One downside of the bills import feature is that you can end up with two entries for suppliers if the name isn't recognised fully during the import. The merge feature that you use once this has happened to consolidate the records isn't the most intuitive and you can easily merge the records the wrong way. What do you like best about Xero?

I like how easy it is to use and how often we can rely on it. It’s a familiar tool with all the necessary features we require. It integrates seamlessly with the other services we use, like our banks. What do you dislike about Xero?

To be honest, the UI could be better, as could the API endpoints and the options for using Xero through custom applications we build for our in-house needs. Hubdoc also needs additional recognition improvements, along with more rules or templates to help classify documents and automatically fill in the relevant fields. "Xero Makes Invoicing and Payment Tracking Simple"
What do you like best about Xero?

Xero is great of how simple it makes invoicing and tracking payments. I can create and send invoices right from the platform, and clients can pay through paypal, which fit well with how i alreday run things. Matching payments to invoices is easy straightforward and i really appreciate having all my subscription and monthly expenses in one spot. The built in reports are also helpful they give me a fast snapshot of how business is doing without me having to build a bunch of spredsheeta from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Xero?

I run a small SEO agency in Melbourne and use Xero mainly for invoicing clients, reconciling payments, and keeping an eye on cash flow. For day-to-day billing, it works well. I’ve set up repeating invoices for my monthly SEO retainers, and that saves me time. The dashboard gives me a quick snapshot of what’s coming in and what’s overdue, which helps when managing multiple client accounts. What do you dislike about Xero?

I recently tried setting up my bank feed and the website crashed many times within a week. That was frustrating, especially when you’re trying to get your accounts properly connected. What do you like best about Xero?

I use Xero for my freelance graphic design business, and it’s made invoicing and payments much easier to manage. I create and send invoices directly from Xero and let clients pay through PayPal, which works well for my workflow. When payments come in, I reconcile them against invoices and keep everything organized in one place. I also track my software subscriptions and run basic reports to see where I stand each month. What do you like best about Xero?

I’m a freelance full-stack developer and used to track everything in spreadsheets. After about a year with Xero, I can’t imagine going back. I use it mainly for creating and sending invoices, reconciling bank transactions, and tracking expenses.

I’ve connected Stripe and PayPal so clients can pay directly from the invoice, which has definitely sped up payments. The bank feed pulls in transactions daily, and I usually spend a few minutes matching payments and categorizing expenses like software subscriptions or hosting. It’s way more organized than my old manual setup. I also check the Profit & Loss report every month to see how things are trending. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xero?

What do you like best about Xero?

I’ve been using Xero for about two years now after managing everything in Excel. As a restaurant owner in Frankfurt, I don’t have time to constantly fix spreadsheets. The bank reconciliation is what I use most. I connected our business account, and matching card payments, supplier debits, and wine deliveries against invoices is much quicker than before.

I also create invoices for private tastings and corporate dinners. Duplicating old invoices and adjusting quantities saves time. The monthly profit and loss report helps me quickly see how food and beverage margins are performing, which matters a lot in my business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xero?

Setting up German VAT rates took some effort, especially with different rates for food and drinks. I had to review everything with my tax advisor. Also, inventory tracking isn’t really suitable for restaurant stock, so we handle that separately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most impressive part of Xero’s recent evolution is how it has shifted from a reactive ledger to a proactive management tool. The integration of JAX (Just Ask Xero) is not just a gimmick; it has significantly reduced the time I spend running manual reports. Being able to ask for a "quick breakdown of revenue by service line" and getting a formatted visual in seconds is a massive productivity win.

Additionally, the automated bank reconciliation continues to be the gold standard. In 2026, the AI's ability to recognize intent—predicting account codes for complex transactions based on historical patterns rather than just simple rules—has cut our month-end closing time by nearly 30%. What do you dislike about Xero?

While the core platform is excellent, the tier-based feature gating can still be frustrating. For example, needing a higher-tier plan or a third-party app just for advanced inventory or multi-warehouse tracking feels like a bit of a leap for mid-sized businesses. I also think the user interface consistency needs work. While the new dashboard and reporting sections are sleek and modern, navigating back into the deeper settings or the Chart of Accounts feels like stepping back five years. What do you like best about Xero?

Xero’s biggest strength is how intuitive and clean the platform is. The interface is easy to navigate, making daily bookkeeping and month-end work straightforward. What I like best—something I haven’t found on other platforms—is the ability to fully customize account transaction reports. You can select exactly which columns to display, filter, toggle options on and off, and group or summarize transactions by any category you need. What do you dislike about Xero?

The main area I’d like Xero to improve is the search feature. Right now, searching for specific transactions can be limited. I hope that in the future, Xero will enhance the search bar to include bank transaction details, so you can quickly find any specific transaction without extra steps.
