Simple to create visually appealing websites or to quickly prototype website design for a client. The templates offer good variety and are easily customized. There is saying nowdays, if you are not in Internet you don´t exist, That´s why many businesses feel the pressure to have or maintain a blog. But, not all have the dedicated staff capacity, inclination, or even interest to keep one, so a static website is the quick solution. Xara Web Designer is an easy to use, template based solution that requires no HTML, CSS or coding skills.

It's affordable, relatively small download, easy to install and comes in either 32 or 64 bit versions. Installation is straight forward and the system requirements are modest.

The user interface is attractive, modern looking and easy to navigate. You can start a new blank site or choose a template. There are many templates to choose from for mobile, desktop or responsive. You can also buy more from Xara, but the ones provided should be good enough for most.

All the basic features you come to expect from a WYSIWYG editor are there and some notable features includes a slideshow (via a customizable widget), sticky elements (that stay on top while scrolling), objects animations (such as fade or slide) and html 5 video support to replace flash videos.

Moving elements on the page is easy, and other elements auto-adjust their location accordingly.

A built in graphics retoucher and optimizer (basic) allows some image manipulation and image resizing.

It is also easy to build your site navigation and menu system.

sFTP is supported for secure uploading to your site's hosting company's FTP server.

Overall, this is a solid product for creating great websites with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cons are not that easy to find in this application, but I would still like to have an option to see the HTML code and maybe even edit it from within the application, so this is surely not for coders who want fine control over all the aspects of the site/page code.

While menu and navigation are easy to create, the page thumbnails (on the right) are small and there is no option to zoom in on them.

I used mostly to show customers how its web site will look like, with the ease of changing wahtever they need almos instantly. I can have several versions of the same project at hand, I do not waste my time or my customer time, because any change can be seen instantly, like image editing; or the drag-and-drop color changes. The highlight is that they need knowledge of web design to create your own site and upload to the internet. It requires no extra programs for editing. I can design professionally in this program and PLS my design for my site in 3 or 4 clicks. It has a very light work space with options to hide windows if you do not need. You can create moving files, export in GIF or Flash format and import them once more to your design and fits very well. This software also allows me to create presentations. It offers a catalog of free web templates. Also editable widgets, icons, templates for presentations and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It closes unexpectedly when you have a certain amount of lashes. Sometimes stops you and you can do nothing and you must close and sometimes lose your project progress. When unexpectedly it quits almost always lose workspace settings and must be reconfigured. The preview of the project is not always presented with the final result. Until you export know the quality.
