They provide you with all the documentation you need to learn how to use it. The documentation / tutorials are actually helpful and get you producing quickly. Xano is useful for building CRUD APIs using database tables. You can generate custom API endpoints quickly, at less cost. **What do you dislike about Xano?** Improved UI for displaying variables. Variables are set to text, which can be a bit confusing. However, the Xano team has said they will be improving this. **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** Xano has allowed us to develop fast, without hiring outsourced / contracted help for our backend. ### 2. With an hour or two of research through their documentation, I had begun to populate my database and was interacting with API's. For someone with a very low base of knoweldge this was a huge win and is a testament to the power of the Xano platform. Leonardo Da Vinci said it best: "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" and Xano has embodied that. **What do you dislike about Xano?** That I didn't find out about Xano sooner! It would have saved a lot of wasted time and headaches. **Recommendations to others considering Xano:** Definitely make sure explore Xano's capabilities and the team behind it. They are a team of talented individuals with real-world experience managing and developing apps of all sizes and scale, they have built this platform with real-world experience from a users experience which reflects in the power and usability of it. The team are also expanding the product daily, so if it doesn't have what you need, there is a good chance they know about it already and are already solving it in intelligent ways. **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our ability to develop our product has exponentially increased in both capabilities and speed. It integrates with every other platform I'm using, it's fast, and the team offers incredible support. **What do you dislike about Xano?** If I had to find something, it'd be the (very) occasional bug. But this is happening less and less frequently as the team improves the product. **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm using Xano to build the backend of a native mobile app. It integrates with my frontend, membership platform, Sendgrid, and referral software. ### 5. I was able to create a bidding system that lets me automate the buying and selling of these calls. Xano is so cool because I was able to do this entirely on my own. I did do a few support calls with Michael but once those questions were answered, everything was working. I'm amazed I was able to pull this off. **What do you dislike about Xano?** So far so good... not much to complain about. **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** The tricky part with the bidding system is that is that you need to have certain database operations update different records in a different order depending on the type of action. To further complicate things, sometimes you need to contact other services outside of xano. One thing I really love is that Xano is friendly to database transactions so that if something screws up (like an external service going offline), it will allow me to revert all the operations it did as if it never happened. This let's me make sure that my data is always in the correct state and never has any issues of getting partially updated. I remember reading about this back in my university days, but it was pretty cool realizing the real world problem and then having Xano help me complete it. ### 6. I create a new workspace and import my data so it has its own unique copy and then I'm able to query the data in different way to figure out if some of my new ideas to optimize my business funnels make sense or not. Previously, I would have to contact the IT department and everything turned into a big deal. Xano lets me do things on my own and experiment with different ideas and concepts to see what works or doesn't work. **What do you dislike about Xano?** There one one time where I accidentally deleted something. I wish they had a way to undo something or have better versioning. **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have a lot of customers with unique data but since there is a lot of volume sometimes patterns emerge with similarities between them. I'm constantly coming up with different ideas for different permutations of insurance packages. Xano lets me do some simple math and create triggers on this data to quickly come up with different ideas I may have to increase revenue. Sometimes they are good ideas - sometimes not - but I love that I can quickly try something out without having to bother someone more technical. ### 7. After using Xano I started explaining some of the functions I created to him and his draw dropped in amazement. I'm finally able to connect the dots to topics my brother has mentioned previously that went over my head. Granted I'm no where near his caliber, but I love that I can actually sit at the table with him and be productive making things happen using Xano. **What do you dislike about Xano?** I haven't found anything negative, but I'm still learning. I'm sure there is something to nitpick, but right now I'm just enjoying the ride getting better and more productive building things. **Recommendations to others considering Xano:** If I can make this work, then I'm pretty sure anyone can. I never thought I could do anything development related, but after seeing it done visually, it is starting to make sense. **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm a real-estate agent, so I interact a lot with clients. We have our own CRM system, but I have been wanting to do more high touch interaction with my clients using emails, reminders, and surveys. I was able to export all of client data and then start creating my own rules on when to trigger actions for my customers. Since I can create variables and do some simple math, I can set my own rules exactly how I want on my customer data. ### 8. I can query the database, do if/then statements, and loops. **What do you dislike about Xano?** Xano only has servers hosted in the US. I think they are West coast only at the moment. It would be nice to get support for other regions. **Recommendations to others considering Xano:** Watch the youtube videos. They are very well done and easy to follow. I was a little worried in the beginning thinking that I might not be able to figure things out but the videos really helped and the guy talking through the steps makes them easy to understand **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem was how expensive my previous developers were. I would justify it when things were going well, but when they got stuck and not able to finish certain features it was draining me financially. Xano let me do the tasks my developers were failing at. For example I wanted to have certain emails go out to my customers at different times of day and this would gradually change as more information was gathered about their profiles. This started out as an easy task but turned into something more complex. The issue I was having with my developers is that their implementation became a spiders nest of logic and I would think twice about changing things because when they would make adjustments it would break something else. Since Xano is visual it was much easier to see exactly how things were being done and it let me confidently make changes on my own. ### 9. They are also coming out with multiple videos a week of awesome in-depth tutorial videos that help you use their product better. Most of all, I love that they are always listening to feedback and updating their platform to make it the best it can be. They are awesome! **What do you dislike about Xano?** I dislike that I can't build everything with XAN0, just the backend. **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** The scalability of using a backend like Xano is one of the biggest benefits. When we grow out of our current front-end platform, to another one, or to a fully custom-built one from scratch, Xano will be able to grow with us seamlessly. We also have all of the processes, calculations, and data pulling happening in Xano on the backend so our front end is lightweight and very quick for the end user. We got onboard while Xano was in closed beta so it was lacking in some areas for documentation but the Xano team has quickly given its users a forum filled with helpful content, a youtube channel filled with how to videos and the Xano team has been so helpful. **Recommendations to others considering Xano:** Just dive right in. There are now so many videos and articles to help you have to try it. **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest one is that we no longer require prototyping tools separate to our production tools. There are many tutorials, videos, and articles that walk you through the full set of Xano capabilities and how to apply them in real scenarios. I was building functional backend no-code APIs supported by a database during the first tutorial. The Xano user interface automatically builds my standard APIs (CRUD APIs) based on the database tables I define. It also gives you multiple authentication options from email/password to Google OAuth and others. Xano also automatically documents the APIs in the industry-standard Swagger format. You have the ability to Run/Debug each API and see each outcome of the business logic you built. All you have to do is drag, drop and configure any aspect of your business logic. No code needed. And key to reusability, Xano has a function library where you can build reusable no-code business logic for use in any of your APIs. These functions can be called from the APIs or from the scheduled tasks you can run in the background for offline activities. The combination of these features and many others makes it easy and fast for me to build a complete backend platform with documented APIs without the need to do any coding. **What do you dislike about Xano?** I am looking forward to the version control enhancements that are being added as well as the ability to see the volume of calls and details of the API calls being made to my Xano instance. **Recommendations to others considering Xano:** Set aside 30 minutes and try Xano. It doesn't take much time to realize the savings in time and the reduction of complexity of your projects as you start using Xano. **What problems is Xano solving and how is that benefiting you?** There are two main problems that Xano solves for me. The ability to build a scalable backend platform for my mobile app and web apps is the primary use. Secondarily, my platform needs to integrate with 3rd party platforms like Twilio, Sendgrid, Webflow and others. Xano makes it easy to do those integrations and store the state of the activity across my platform and the 3rd party tools that support it. This is allowing me to build a technology-based business without needing to hire developers to get it built. ### 12. After spending $75,000 on 3 different codebases, only to be left without a lead developer to finish the job, I found Xano. Within a few months, I was able to launch our product using the Xano + Appgyver stack. The team is always extremely helpful and genuinely invested in our success. **What do you dislike about Xano?** So far Xano has been able to handle everything we have needed. I was initially hesitant to use a no-code 3rd party platform.
