After 9 years of using integration technologies, such as ESB 5.0.0, EI 7.1.0, MI 4.1.0, MI 4.5.0 (as well as using Ballerina, which is not the subject of this review), I can therefore provide a fairly informed opinion.
WSO2 integration products are robust, powerful products that allow you to integrate virtually anything you want. By learning the syntax and with good logic, you can integrate everything.
Performing protocol transformations REST > SOAP > REST is child's play, and data mapping with internal components is also facilitated.
There have been many improvements in the product, particularly in the IDE part which was lacking until now. Integrator Studio was slow and didn't load Maven dependencies and modules, but this has been resolved since the arrival of plugins for Visual Studio Code.
We have operated on several approaches: the service bus approach with a good number of deployed integrations, ETL as well. Now we are using the micro integration approach, which facilitates the build and run of our applications.
I highly recommend this product, provided you are familiar with XML! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have few criticisms, except for weak documentation on complex cases.
Also regarding version upgrades where documentation may be lacking.
Debugging is also complex to implement.
There is also no documentation on the DevOps part for deployments from CI/CD.
(Given that WSO2 integration projects behave like Java Maven projects, CI/CD is rather simple) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
