WSO2 identity server, it comes with a loads of good features that is just more than good, and the best of then are comprehensive IAM ( IDENTITY AND ACCESS MANAGEMENT) functionality, then comes the SSO protocols like SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, and OAuth 2.0, which allow users to log in once and access multiple functionality using different applications, then comes its Multi Tendency which allow users to customize things on their interests, its compelety open source which enables developers to perform their operations and help it make a better platform everyday. There's not a lot to describe in this particular section, I miss this one feature of customer support, which would have been a bit additional good part of this platform as we have to head to the community page all the time we face a problem, but community is well organized and doubts are solved in real time. WSO2 has invested significant time into the design and functionality of its Identity Server product. This investment has delivered an extensible and scalable identity and access management solution for almost any use case. Identity Server has excellent support for the most common authentication and authorization protocols with an ever-growing marketplace of extensions. WSO2 participates in fostering an open-source culture with Identity Server by offering its core product, key features and extensions as open source projects. What do you dislike about WSO2 Identity Platform? WSO2 Identity Server can be difficult to get started and to find the appropriate documentation. The documentation website has undergone renovations starting in 5.9.0 and continue to be a better experience with each minor and major release. Another dislike is the recent security vulnerabilities that have been discovered. I have an opportunity for a customer to implement an SSO solution considering the budget and rich features. I have checked for Forgerock OpenAM & WSO2 Identity server and went with WSO2 IS to implement the same. The product installation was quick and easy for the proof of concept. The management console has a rich UI with easy navigation for available features. As per the business requirement, a 2FA setup was required, and it was easy with WSO2 IS with a click of a button and browser-based configuration only. Single Sign On(SSO) was implemented for four applications with WSO2 IS login window as a single entry point. It also asked the customer to use the existing users from their Active Directory. This requirement was also fulfilled easily using secondary user store configuration via console with browser-based form, and users get listed under Users \> Secondary user store. I have experienced that sometimes XML-based configurations are a bit complex, as a little syntax error leads to the malfunctioning of the whole application. What problems is WSO2 Identity Platform solving and how is that benefiting you? 1. To meet GDPR compliance, most organisations are implementing IDAM solutions. 2. We had a similar story about having strong governance over resource access, and I suggested using WSO2 IS as an open-source solution first.
