What do you like best about WSO2 Identity Platform?

Extensive documentation through their website. Great support and the product has many ready-made plug and play capability that help you configure it to your organizational needs. Its ability to cater to a variety of use cases is helpful. One of the use cases we deployed this was to set it up as a federated identity server so the internal product doesn't have to individually connect to external IDPs but can allow it to be centralized in WSO2 IS. WSO2 automatically handles different SSO protocols between SP and WSO2 versus WSO2 and IDP Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WSO2 Identity Platform?

We have an on-premise solution and so the security updates, system updates and maintenance require some dedicated support both from the internal team as well as WSO2 support. The product UI is not intuitive and so needs some getting used to, however, this is more for administration and configuration. What problems is WSO2 Identity Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?

We had several internal products that we wanted to bring together from a user experience standpoint. One of the requirements was single-sign-on experience across products. In addition, we wanted an authentication system for our APIs that could be controlled within our firewall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about WSO2 Identity Platform?

WSO2 IS is highly customizable and we have been able to manage and maintain the product using an in-house development team by only taking the WSO2 subscription support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WSO2 Identity Platform?

I dislike the feature of taking the 1st tenant as the super tenant. Because we had implemented the WSO2 IS for our online banking product, but now need to integrate it with API Manager. Since the super tenant of WSO2 IS automatically taken for the 1st tenant, now we cannot take the super tenant for API Manager implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a lot of data is stored in database, Database related tasks are required periodically when large-scale transactions occurred.

When considering transitioning from a basic commercial product to an open source product, the first thing to consider deeply is the level of support for the service.
