Wordpress.org makes the website creation process possible without snowballing overheads, and WPMUDev keeps sites running quickly and smoothly with minimal expertise needed. (Which isn't to say that you don't need ANY expertise, but they do a very good job of making it as accessible as possible to people like me.) **What do you dislike about WPMU DEV?** I haven't found any so far - except that with an annually paid Agency plan, I wish hosting for perhaps half a dozen small websites was included, rather than having to pay an additional $4/mo for sites that I'm basically just tinkering with. **What problems is WPMU DEV solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have an Agency plan and I use both their plugins and their Gold hosting. Since making the switch I have had no problems at all. My Wordpress / WooCommerce site loads quickly and smoothly. Their support is very good indeed, and rather than giving instructions they often resolve problems themselves while you wait. I went from seeing 0.6~0.8 second load times down to 0.2 second load times. 3 - Making staging sites to test things is so fast and easy too. Being able to install the certificates myself would be nice. Getting everything working the way you want to can be a challenge in that environment. Their UI, in spite of innumerable features, is quite simple to navigate, it's attractive and intuitive, and whenever there's an update, it's easy to adapt. But best of all is their service. I have just transferred from my host as I was using the WPMU Dev pro plugins which I liked and thought it would be easier to do everything in one place. The plugins are great but I am probably not using them to the full capacity. It's taken a while to realise what other plugins etc I can get rid of to replace with their functionality. For example, I was previously paying for a plugin that did subscriptions and I no longer need to do this as I have the forminator plugin now. Whilst the pro plugins are great, the best thing is the customer service team. They are always immediately available and really helpful. This wan't the case with my last host. I would probably recommend transferring for the good customer service alone. It's a very rare thing to get skilled and responsive real people at a time when everyone else seems to be changing to automated bots. Please never change this! **What do you dislike about WPMU DEV?** WPMU Dev seems to be set up predominantly for people with an advanced level of technical knowledge. They offer a lot more than other hosting services, but this can make it quite overwhelming. They give you a lot more than my last host but it has been a steep learning curve. There is advice available but one bit of advice often links to another and you seem to have to read a lot to achieve things. I am dyslexic and their text-based advice is difficult, it could be written in a more accessible way. I'm not complaining about the level of the offer or service (that's great), but the advice seems to have been written by technical people who seem to make a lot of assumptions. The amount of things to consider and the pages and pages of guidance is overwhelming! The saving grace is the customer service team.
