**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

updates are messed up. bugs are sometimes not identified.

 ### 2. The gold standard in managed WordPress hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunny W. | Senior Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

The one-click development, staging, and production environments are easy to manage. I also like the Local tool. WP Engine seems to be really invested in the developer experience and trying to improve WordPress development in general.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

I wish our reps were a little more involved in our agency partnership. I've gotten a few calendar invites from them, only to have them cancel at the last minute. It makes me feel like we're not a big enough partner or something for them to care about us.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We host 25-30 WordPress websites for our clients and internal tools. WP Engine makes the hosting and maintenance of these sites very easy. We especially like the Smart Plugin Manager so we know that our WordPress plugins are always up to date.

 ### 3. Great service, just be prepared for sales calls

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

I love the 24-hour availability of the chat feature. Almost all of the people I have interacted with there are super helpful. The service is generally very stable and we have extremely low instances of problems.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Sales calls. I feel like we are constantly pressured to upgrade. I also dislike when the server is moved, and we have to update our DNS, it's a large project for us, so having to do it even on a periodic basis is a hassle.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to have monitored servers without having to have an employee on call 24 hours a day. An easy interface to mange all of our Wordpress networks while avoiding having to use Cpanel.

 ### 4. Excellent Support and Servers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Their team is incredibly responsive and always goes above and beyond to meet our needs. We have been delighted with our experience and highly recommend WP Engine to any business looking for a reliable and supportive web hosting partner. Ease of use and excellent service, and great migration tools.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

They need to offer email services. It's an expensive hosting, and you need to pay for additional email service with another email vendor.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Managed Hosting service it's super convenient as they are very knowledgeable. They are always able to solve any issues with your site. They have monitoring tools that alert you if a plugin has a vulnerability to upgrade it or even remove it.

 ### 5. Client Support is Top Notch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

The support team at WP Engine is top-notch. They've assisted on multiple projects and are consistently fast, friendly and able to answer questions quickly.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

If I had to nitpick, I'd say the ChatBot feature could use some fine-tuning. Still, it has proven helpful on most queries after minimal mining for answers.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WP Engine provides a streamlined process for web hosting and support. Their platform and team have saved our small agency many hours.

 ### 6. Solid hosting, solid support.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Conner B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

The consistent performance from WPengine is true for their uptime, speed, support team, and work they put into innovation and improving their platform. WP engine is always on top of it.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

The cost would be my number one concern if I were a smaller client. At the agency level, it's a lesser concern. The same rings true for a brochure site vs. an e-commerce site that brings in revenue. But the benefits still outweigh the downside by far.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ease of use that WPengine provides is fantastic. It has the same tools as a cpanel, but it's much easier to understand and use. Also, anytime something pops up; support is ready to help.

 ### 7. Nobody Does It Better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bud K. | WordPRess Training And Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

I love everything about WP Engine!

Their technology, UI, and support make them deservedly no.1 regarding WordPress hosting. The fact that WP hosting is their only business shows.

I am very familiar with other WP hosts and WP Engine is and will always be my first choice.

I am an affiliate and I know that my referrals will make clients happy.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

It's a small thing but I don't like the info and alert popups in the UI. That was added about 2 years ago and it is annoying and not necessary.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just the tech support in general is so great. What ever I pay each year to WPE is worth it and then some.

 ### 8. A reliable and powerful hosting solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Easy to use, has plenty of features, and provides good customer support.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

It's expensive compared to less established alternatives. It has certain tech limitations (e.g., for some plug-ins) which can hinder performance.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides reliable, secure hosting for our websites. Provides backup, SSL certificates, CDN, domain mapping, staging/dev environments, and more.

 ### 9. The Pioneers of White Glove WordPress Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

WP Engine is the company that we recommend and have used with success for over 10 years now. WP Engine prides itself on being one of the fastest hosting companies. Some of the other advantages WP Engine offers is daily time machine like backups for easy rollback or restores. They also handle all security. If your site is ever hacked they will take full responsibility and restore it at no cost.

Another great features is that they offer a clone button of your live site that is copies your site to one of two staging environments. This is great for development as it create a "sandbox" site for development and testing without affecting your current, live site.

Above all, their support is without parallel. They offer 24/7 chat and phone support with actual engineers who can help you with any issue you have with the site. On countless occasions they have been there to quickly help resolve any issues.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

The cost can go up for higher traffic plans.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use for hosting, support, ability to create staging site all help solve development issues so we can be more productive.

 ### 10. WP Engine is the only go-forward option for WordPress hosting.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ty G. | Senior Manager - Product Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Their customer support is by far the most helpful support system I've ever used (not just hosting platforms too, any product or service.) In the decade or more that I've used WP Engine, there hasn't been a single instance where my issue didn't get resolved incredibly quickly after hopping on with their support live chat. In addition, their UI is extremely intuitive and fast, and allows me tons of freedom to set up my servers however I want.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Honestly, nothing comes to mind. They're far and away the best option for WordPress hosting, and their pricing is incredibly reasonable. Especially at the enterprise level, they're actually cheaper than many other enterprise hosting options.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Often, hosting can be a significant pain point in the website development space, requiring hours and hours of troubleshooting that wastes everyone's time and money. WP Engine has all but eliminated that problem for my business. Through their incredibly intuitive and powerful UI, I can simply and easily set up my servers however I want, create FTP accounts with robust permissions, and even set up free SSLs for my domains in minutes. And if I do happen to run into an issue, their industry-leading customer support continually blows me away with how quickly they take care of whatever hurdle is in front of me.

 ### 11. Top notch WordPress hosting service.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

I have been using WPEngine for my WordPress hosting needs for the last six years and have been extremely satisfied with the service. The platform is user-friendly and easy to navigate, making it simple to manage client websites. The customer support team is also top-notch, always available to assist with any issues or concerns. The site speed and uptime have been excellent, giving me peace of mind that client websites are always running smoothly. Overall, I highly recommend WPEngine to anyone needing a reliable and efficient WordPress hosting solution."

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

It's worth noting that some users may find the pricing higher than other hosting providers, especially for small or personal websites. Additionally, WPEngine only supports WordPress and doesn't offer other website-building options. This can be an issue for users who want to use a different platform or have multiple websites on various platforms.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits of using WPEngine are:

Peace of mind
Improved website performance
Improved security
Efficient customer support
Easy website management
Regular backups
Automatic updates for WordPress and its plugins

 ### 12. WP Engine is a no-brainer for anyone who wants reliable hosting for Wordpress sites.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee P. | DevOps Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

The fact that WP Engine automates backups, migrations, and plugin updating allows people to focus on their business value and less on maintenance and reliability.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

The only downside to WP Engine is that the pricing might be too steep for hobby level users who don't have the volume to justify all of the features that WP Engine has to offer.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backups, Migrations, easy account transfer, uptime, whitelabeling, invoicing. All of these things are features I didn't realize I needed until I had to try to manage them myself. Then when I figured out how to do these correctly, I was thrilled to see that WP Engine was doing it for me.

 ### 13. Outstanding Tools & Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Being able to manage several environments quickly and easily is an incredibly useful help for developers.
LargeFS (AWS S3 ready) infrastructure also a bonus and the Customer Service is truly outstanding.
Happy to have refer to WPE all my WP clients!

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Cache exclusion management could use a manual input, but Support is always happy to do it.
Maybe a search/replace system and an S3 GUI navigator and deleted media sync (in case of LargeFS) would be the ultimate tools that WPE is missing.
Error logs dont seem complete at times and audit routines do clutter custom error logs, but nothing problematic to be fair... it's really hard to come up with something I would definitely change.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing several environments for websites, cloning them over easily, easy backups and rollbacks, AWS S3 ready... not sure what else one would need to develop/debug WP sites quickly and professionally.

 ### 14. I've used WPEngine for over half a decade, and they're well worth it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johnathon K. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

I've used WPEngine for 5 years now, and they've been one of the best and most reliable hosting companies out there. Their support is always helpful, and I rarely need to contact them more than once for an issue.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Honestly? There isn't a lot to dislike. The only thing would be they need a more in-depth usage dashboard, but they're making strides in that. I would also say having the ability to customize a new install stack would be amazing.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WPEngine solves my hosting needs for my own site as well as my clients. Their plans are generally expensive but usually well worth it, especially for high-end sites.

 ### 15. WP Engine for the Win!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kylie C. | Production & Digital Communications Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

WP Engine makes novice web builders like me feel confident about managing a company website. Super user-friendly and easy to navigate - no headaches included! Highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

The only downside we have found using WP Engine is the number of updates needed to keep our plug-ins and site running smoothly. They are easy to update but annoying to remember to check regularly.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company did not want to hire a full-time website developer, and WP Engine made that possible! Someone with limited previous web knowledge is more than capable of regular upkeep - fancy web developer is only needed for major re-designs and large projects.

 ### 16. Fast, reliable, great staging features, excellent support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nile S. | Hubspot COS Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

The easy-to-use staging environment and very fast copy from live to stage and vice-versa, and the excellent customer support.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

The price is a bit steep for me to use with my own websites, as I have many of them, and it would be too expensive to host them all with WP Engine. I wish it were cheaper – I would move all my sites over.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast websites, monitoring of out of date plugins and Wordpress, multiple development sites that can easily and quickly be copied to and from live. Excellent, fast customer support whenever I need it.

 ### 17. WP Engine is a game changer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

I love the reliability of customer service. A live tech support person is available whenever I need them and always willing to go the extra mile to resolve issues.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

There's nothing I dislike about WPEngine. The service is top notch.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clients previously wanted their sites built with discount hosting providers. That regularly became a headache. I made it a requirement to use my hosting or be on their own for post launch support. This eliminated a ton of headaches.

I also love the user interface, the automatic daily backups, and the ability to create staging sites.

 ### 18. The best platform for hosting WordPress websites worry free.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brent F. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

WP Engine has flexible options that help agencies resell, scale, and receive top notch customer service. We also appreciate the tech which has provided optimal speeds for our sites as well.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

This is a little weird, but as you start to fill up dedicated servers, finding a way to affordably accommodate one or two sites as you grow your base of hosting clients can be challenging.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving the problem of needing a reliable host to accommodate multiple WordPress sites but they are also helping with their plugin update tool which helps keep the sites up to date.

 ### 19. The fastest and most reliable WordPress Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil S. | Founder and President and Chief Oil & Gas Accounting Simplifier, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

The WP Engine support team is top-notch. They are quick and very responsive. In my experience they answer support chats in under a minute. Everything with WP Engine is top-notch.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

The cost is more than what you pay for other services. But you have to keep reminding yourself. "You get what you pay for." What you pay for WP Engine is well worth it.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They do a great job of managing WordPress sites. We don't have to worry about WordPress configuration issues. Everything just works.

 ### 20. WP Engine is a solid dedicated WordPress hosting provider.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve H. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

WP Engine offers the best hand-off management solution for WordPress developers in the niche-hosting market. They make my life easier.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

I've never been thrilled with the cost and I wish I could host up to 3 sites under the smallest pricing plan. Also, I think they count bot traffic toward the upper limit.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resource optimization, plugin management, and detailed technical support.

 ### 21. Stable Web Hoster with Amazing Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason P. | Director, Marketing Data and Technology, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

The support team is easy to get ahold of via live chat 24/7. There is rarely any wait to speak to someone, and then you deal with knowledgeable staff once you do.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

I have more issues with WordPress than I do with WP Engine. The price is higher than I would like, but as I mentioned, the support you get is superior. Everyone I've worked with has been great.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WP Engine is used to host our website. WordPress enables our marketing team to update pages with minimal dev involvement easily.

 ### 22. Best of Class for WordPress Sites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Micah M. | UI/UX Designer & Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

With WP Engine, sites rarely go down, migration is easy, and they provide a ton of great tools for managing your sites.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

It's a little more on the pricier side compared to standard hosting packages, and bandwidth can play a larger role in your plan than you may realize.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With tools like WP Local, WP Engine makes building and deploying sites in a consistent and controlled environment straightforward. Daily backups ensure if anything ever goes wrong, you can click a button and go back to before the issue arose.

 ### 23. Best affordable hosting for WordPress

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David J. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Comes with multiple environments useful for testing and development. Wp cli access through ssh, free ssl certificates, automated backups, easy to sync environments

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

The wait time for support has gotten longer than it used to be for live chat. The limited disk space and bandwidth has also been a problem for some of my clients

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes it simple to recommend clients to use wpengine, as in the end it makes my job easier as opposed to other hosting companies that do not offer the same level of service

 ### 24. Solid Web Hosting Paired with Excellent Customer Service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** C S. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

We host all of our client's websites with WP Engine. It's quick and easy to set up a WordPress development environment, and managing it after launch is a breeze. WP Engine's excellent 24/7 customer service has yet to leave us hanging.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

For newcomers, the leap in subscription pricing may be a bit much for some. There are definitely cheaper hosting options out there, minus the suite of WP Engine's robust features. The dashboard navigation takes a second to get acquainted with.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having automated backups on all of your sites is a lifesaver. Utilizing WP Engine's one-click restore to a previous environment has saved us many times. It's good to feel safe when you have reliable hosting and support with WP Engine.

 ### 25. Solid Tool for Website Building & Design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

* Self-intuitive
* Easy to navigate
* Ability to customize with ease
* Dashboard is not overloaded with too many pages/areas to navigate
* Plugin friendly/easy to apply plugins as needed

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

* Difficult to use if you've never built a website before (compared to a box offering like Wix or Squarespace that are much more templatized but lack the ability to customize)

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WP Engine helps us build, design, and host our website.

 ### 26. I sell online courses and WP Engine works great with my Wordpress site.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sheri O. | Freelance Artist and Educator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Back-end staging works well and I feel like my information is safe. Has some safety features that have helped me when using conflicting plugins.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Because I am not a tech some things are hard for me to understand when making backend changes but I have had support when needed from my host.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My web team has helped when I can't figure things out on my own.

 ### 27. Easy to use and reliable!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Its quick and easy to use. Updates are seamless. Migrations are easy. The best platform for multiple staging sites and diagnostics.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

I have found that when applying updates in the dev site any new data that has come through the production site is lost through that short period. For example we lost a claim submission and the client did not follow up for two weeks and was not too impressed we had no details of the claim.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WP Engine is a secure system that manages our staging, dev and prod sites. I feel confident we will have minimal issues with this hosting platform.

 ### 28. Great Specialized Wordpress Hosting with Best Support in Industry

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pieter V. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Their live chat agents are top-notch with helping you manage your hosting, their hosting is really fast, and security is top priority - with warnings of vulnerable plugins and other measures.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Some of their caching can interfere with Woocommerce, but this can be overcome by asking them to exclude certain pages from their caching.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast and reliable web hosting that I don't need to worry about!

 ### 29. I would and do recommend WP Engine to anyone who has or wants a WordPress website. It's superior

**Reviewed by:** Zak P. | Founder and Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

WP Engine's platform is easy to use, reliable, secure, cost-effective and the customer support is second to none.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Nothing I can think of. The platform is better than any other hosting platforms I've used before.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WP Engine solves the problem of bad WordPress hosting. There are so many hosting platforms out there for WordPress, and in my opinion, WP Engine stands above the rest.

 ### 30. WP Engine makes it easy to manage multiple websites with valuable customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

I like being able to login to the WP admin through the portal, having a development and staging site, and being able to easy access high quality help with issues as they come up.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

I wish hosting costs were cheaper, as always, but frankly we do get a good product for the price. I had some trouble a year or so ago with legacy staging, but it's been fixed.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to easily show my clients development versions of their sites before going live. It also has a seamless connection with domain registrars to set up a connection with your domain instantly.

 ### 31. Happy customer for 10 years

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick L. | E-Learning, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

High performance and affordable WordPress hosting, easy-to-use interface with detailed support documents, fast and helpful customer support.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

The limit of shared server troubles us when seasonal spike comes, and increasingly aggressive new salesperson in recent years gets a bit annoying.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps my company building our online business using WordPress CMS without worrying about usual server issues in backend.

 ### 32. Over promised and under delivered

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul L. | Director of Digital, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Adding new websites was simple but their cloudflare integration (that costs 250/m) was a complete waste of money and just an upsell. I highly recommend not purchasing any of their addons

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

I was promised a scalable server for my growing web agency when I signed up for hosting with WP Engine. Only after I migrated 45 websites over to their hosting platform, I found that my server was not scalable. Every website on the server I paid $750/m for was painfully slow within the WP Admin area and every time I tried to reach out to support, I didn't get answers and got passed off to the next support person. Support ticket after support ticket and it took months for them to get back to me with no solution. When I tried to contact my sales rep about it, he at first blew me off by saying he would look into it, and then it took a couple of months later (after I followed up several times, he setup a call between myself and his boss. The call fell short, and they said there is nothing they could do to help me other than 'look into temporarily increasing the server performance".

Understanding that the team at WP Engine did not care about my sites or my 750/m, I migrated everything away to Gridpane and a custom server setup that is actually scalable. In my opinion, WP Engine is not worth the money. They have gotten too big and have forgotten about the smaller agencies and customers that got them to where they are. I highly recommend checking out other hosting options before you move more than one website over to WP Engine.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They solved no problem and offered no benefit to me and my agency. We ended up leaving WP Engine after less than 6 months of use because of lack of performance and support

 ### 33. WP Engine has been the best managed WP host I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** lajollaveincare C. | Photographer/Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Fast, reliable help with anything. Confidence that WP Engine keeps my website safe and online.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

A small quibble that you don't have easy access to all files like you would in c-panel but that is why they are a managed host

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Uptime, speed, reliability and the knowledge that my website is secure without resorting to various plugins.

 ### 34. Simply The Best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

WPEngine's support is second to none. They are always willing to help and have solved many complex problems for me. The uptime is very good as well, we never worry about our sites not being up.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

To some it's the cost but to me it's a premium product and you get what you pay for honestly. It's worth the cost to me. I do wish you could have a little more control on the backend.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WPEngine provides reliability and support for sites which can be complex. They make what can be very complex much easier.

 ### 35. Best hosting management and environment switch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sef A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Multiple site management in one click.
Domain connection is super easy.
Daily backup is relaxation.
Switching environment is on a click

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Caching issue in wp engine is not good for sites.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very big problem solved by wpengine is we didn't use to login to multiple account for multiple sites.

 ### 36. Switched to WPEngine for the speed, stayed for the support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christy T. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

I like the speed, security, and ease of setup

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Sometimes their aggressive cache causes problems, but that is the trade-off for fast loading sites

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A strong partner to go along with my web design business. It's good to have a solid hosting recommendation on which I can build a site with minimal issues.

 ### 37. Excellent service for tech support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

Tech support is responsive and helpful. The service is very secure – none of my sites have ever been hacked on this environment, unlike with budget hosting plans.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

The service is very expensive. You do not have access to C-panel or equivalent. There are limitations on site traffic and storage. You can only host Wordpress sites here.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WP Engine has saved me a great deal of time when it comes to bug fixing as support is always on hand and responsive. I don't waste time fixing hacked sites anymore.

 ### 38. Always my go-to vendor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

WP Engine is always there to help us navigate complex hosting environments and monitor our sites. Can't recommend this platform enough for all of your WordPress hosting needs.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

A rigid devops or webops process is not implemented with WP Engine and this can be tricky depending on how much control your individual developers have to push new code.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WP Engine support is always there, 24/7, and it's huge. They go above and beyond to help us understand the situation and always work with us until the issue is completely sorted.

 ### 39. Best managed WordPress hosting available!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2023

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

I've used WPEngine as both a direct customer and an agency partner. Speed and uptime are always top notch and the 1-click staging feature is clutch.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

Pricing can be expensive for multiple websites.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staging + working with partners

 ### 40. WP Engine has great features and amazing customer support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Seth P. | Web & Media Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about WP Engine?**

What don't I like? First, migrating sites to WP Engine could not be easier. Managing my sites is so easy. Backing up and restoring my site is easy. Setting up SSL is easy. All of these things are so much harder on all other web hosting platforms I have worked with.

**What do you dislike about WP Engine?**

I would like to see more tiers for accounts. jumping from 1 site for $30 to 10 sites for $100 is big, it would be good to see something in-between. It would also be nice to add more storage to your account without going to the next tier.

**Recommendations to others considering WP Engine:**

WP Engine is great but pricy. The performance is great. I moved to WPMU Dev to save some money.

**What problems is WP Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am reducing the time I need to manage my Wordpress installs greatly with WP Engine. What takes me a minute or two with WP Engine would have taken me up towards an hour or sometimes more with the other hosting platforms I have used.

 ### 41. Great web hosting platform
