The custom list of tactics was helpful and easy to set up. I liked the approval options, simple to use and easy for both those submitting work for approval and those approving the work. It can be difficult to find projects if you have limited details about them, but not their "Workzone Project Number." It can require some searching and looking within the project itself to find the file you're looking for. Workzone is used primarily as the tool our Creative Services team uses to ticket requests for work, manage approvals for stakeholders and deliver final creative files. What I like best about Workzone is that it keeps everything in one place. All project files, communication, and requests are centralized, so nothing gets lost in emails. The real-time project tracking gives our team clear visibility into the status of every project, making it easy to stay on schedule and identify bottlenecks. I also really like the markup feature, which streamlines the review process by allowing feedback directly on creative files. Finally, the reporting tools provide valuable insights into workload, project progress, and team performance, helping us make informed decisions and continuously improve our processes. When someone is away, there's no built-in way to automatically notify requesters or reassign work, which can create confusion and delays. I also find that Workzone rolls out updates and interface changes fairly frequently. While improvements are appreciated, the frequent changes can disrupt established workflows and require users to continually adjust to new layouts or features. I don’t have experience setting up assignments in Workzone, but as a regular team user, I’ve found it to be a great system for organizing multiple, multi-stage projects and staying on track with my deadlines. I also use the chat feature regularly to communicate with other team members. This helps us address any updates or problems with tasks and also keeps a log of those problems and resolutions so all team members are on the same page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Workzone? When I check off a task that's completed, it disappears from my to-do list, and I have to go hunting for it. It might be nice to have a tab to click on recently completed assignments, so that I can go back and address any issues that may come up after task completion. I work remotely for a team that is otherwise in person, and Workzone keeps me connected to my team on a level that our previous software didn't allow. It just did not have all of the features and easy to navigate format that Workzone has. I feel more in the loop now and rely less on emails, which are also easy to lose track of. It's a clear, easy way to assign tasks, see where people are in the process, and the data is also super helpful in showing how frequently we get requests and how fast we get them done. Before Workzone, we had an MS form for requests. There was no notification system, no way to assign tasks, and nothing keeping us accountable to see requests coming in a timely manner. I can't think of anything specific but most of the upgrades have been super beneficial. There is only one instance where I didn't like the upgrade. When adding names, you used to be able to type any part of the name and it would prompt users. Now you have to type the beginning of the name to prompt the correct user. I like that Workzone keeps track of projects, making sure everything that needs to be done gets done. The approvals feature is great for ensuring all required reviewers review before publishing, which helps us move away from an unmanaged, undocumented email system. I enjoy having all the features I need without Workzone being overkill like MS Project. We recently started using the request function, allowing people without a Workzone login to enter requests, which is great. What do you dislike about Workzone? I think it's more of a learning curve or UX thing. The UI could be more intuitive.
